God wants us (His children) to be wise and harken unto His Word. Wisdom is the beginning of knowledge. This is why we need to understand God’s word and what it means.
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
To be wise means = having or showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment.
To be prudent means = acting with or showing care and thought for the future. Both together will show that a person has good character.
All the parents I know want their children to make wise decisions to include myself. Parents will be overjoyed when these traits show up in their child’s decision making. Parents will send their children to the best schools if they can afford it, they will give them the best of every advantage they can, to have them be successful.
Whether rich or poor parents it does not matter, we try everything we can do to help them along the way.
However, it will not amount to anything if we only try what this sinful world has to offer.
In a time when no one is unaware of the birth of Jesus at Christmas, and when children look forward to that day with joy because it is the day of receiving presents. Unbelievers and believers alike were once foolish enough to try to win the favor of children by telling them that Santa Claus brings presents.
All believers should witness to unbelievers that’s why Jesus Christ came, to seek and save that which was lost. He came for those who do not believe. He shed His blood on the cross, for all sins. He was crucified, died, and rose from the dead, and we must boldly follow Him into the kingdom of heaven as a man of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Walk with the wise!
Eternal life in heaven is the reward of the saved. It is the eternal home of God, where the wise and intelligent are gathered together to praise and give thanks for a beautiful life he has given each of us.
We need to teach our children God’s Word and make sure that they retain it. Not a lie. Write it on their hearts and minds. The children have no chance unless the parents are believers of Jesus Christ and have a solid prayer life and worship in a strong Bible believing Church.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
We never want to be rejected and destroyed for lack of knowledge. We never want to be rejected of God either. What can happen is we can be destroyed and rejected because of our unbelief and sin of not following God’s commandments.
The verse tells us that the Lord God will forget thy children. This coupled with our sin and unbelief leads us to the destruction of our lives, and we become castaway, forever doomed to the pit of hell. This is not a pleasant place, and it is reserved for all those who reject God. We need to walk with the wise to gain knowledge instead of falling into doom with the rejected.
Psalms 107:43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
We need to experience the lovingkindness and understanding of our Lord. The way in which we do this is to follow in obedience to the word. In order for us to not be castaway we must walk with the wise. If we desire to follow God’s commandments and gain understanding from His word. We will gain knowledge of our God and understand His love and kindness for His Creation. (us) We are made in His image.

This verse says it all we must hear the word of God, then start to walk closely with those that make wise decision to learn from God’s word, to gain understanding from those commandments that were given. Then we can walk closely with wise counsel. This can be those that have gone before us and have left us information to read or listen to. It can also be those who are teaching us God’s word.
Are you willing to walk with the wise and see what your Lord will do?
We need to be willing to submit to the Lord’s leading and to learn of His Word and take it to heart and apply it to our life. Don’t ignore the Bible, it was written for our sake so that we can make the necessary changes in our life. We need to harken and get right with God.
Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
The wise will fear the Lord God and depart from evil if it shows up. This fear is not to be scared of God, it is to know that we do not need to associate with evil. We stay away so we will not be tempted by evil. This is important because with the knowledge you have received you will be able to clearly tell what evil is or when it arrives. We call this discernment. We could all use more discernment when it comes to noticing sin, evil, and our enemy.
We need to walk with the Wise (Jesus).
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
And he will give to all Liberally = in generous. Upbraideth not = without rebuke.
James tells us that if we lack wisdom let us ask, God is Able.
Please understand that you must have an establish a prayer life to receive answers to your prayers.
Our God is sovereign. and He provides what we need when we need it, and in His perfect timing. When we have the communicational relationship with God that He desires. God will always hear our prayers. He knows all about us.
Have you ever noticed when we are doing everything according to God’s will our prayers are acted upon more frequently. Then when we had a struggling prayer life.
When we obtain wisdom, and prudence, and we change our lives for the better and we become closer to God. Our prayer life improves, we struggle less. God will bless us beyond your wildest dreams. We will never be able to repay God for the blessing He will bring into our lives.
Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Daniel tells us that if we are wise, we will shine as bright as the stars in the heavens, and if we are witnessing the to others and teaching them God’s word and leading them in the paths of righteousness, that our legacy will shine forever as all the stars shine.
Those that have gone before us are shining as the stars in the heavens and those shining stars give us a glimmer of light at night and are a enjoyment to most of us by night. Many wise men have gone before us to lay down the groundwork and we should be very appreciative of their service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And remember those that gave us our start and encouragement so we must do to others.
