When Jesus came, he told us.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
What this means to me there is a way for Christian follower to walk and a way to for us to talk and a way to God the father in heaven. We cannot be like the world around us. We are to be a separated people. Throughout the Bible we read of this. Isaiah tells Israel in,
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Isaiah is telling Israel to Walk in the way God intends for you to walk to avoid struggles and pit falls in your life. The Israel people ignored God and sought salvation from a human power that ultimately failed. Ultimately, God sent Jesus to this earth to save humanity from failure, defeat, and the limitations of humankind. He gave us grace and love for the unworthy, for forgiveness of our sins and salvation, and whoever believes becomes blessed, and God is still waiting to restore those who do not believe to true salvation. God waits to restore them to true salvation. We all must decide which ever way we turn we should follow the Lord’s way and stay on it. We are guided by the Holy Spirit (The comforter) which Jesus left here with us that can help us make proper decisions along our way in life.
Isaiah 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
The Lord shall guide in the parched places (where there is no water) Lord God will strengthen us if we are obedient and follow Him. The Lord God will strengthen us with joy and faith as we obey and follow Jesus. God’s word is like a spring of water, gushing forth and a spring flowing with fresh water. This watered garden is a picture of happiness. We need the blessings and gratitude of this spring this in our lives.
The contrast of this is disobedience, and this leads to emptiness, weariness, of body and soul, experiencing a life of dry bones. (disobedience = unhappiness).
Simple luck and fortune are the ways of the world, and the world’s principles still leaves us thirsty. They are not the ways of Jesus.
Only a return to Jesus’ sacrifice and devotion, when we obey His Word as saved people, we are blessed with the well-watered spring. Those who believe can experience both happiness and blessing simultaneously. We are not thirsty.
David said,
Psalms 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
David is asking the Lord to teach Him His ways, some of us need to do this in our lives. David says show me Lord. God will place those in your path that will help you along the way if we desire and ask God for his help. We have not because we fail to ask.
Psalms 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
God is always true, He will always lead us in the truth and teach us what we need, for correction and reproof that will lead us to His salvation and change our lives. We need to wait upon God to move us in the right direction. And trust His leading. Our problem we do not like to wait.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
The Lord’s eyes are always upon His people, eagerly hoping that we will do what is right. Therefore, Jesus sends pastors, deacons, and teachers to teach us the Word of God, teaching us to understand who He is and what He desires for each of us.
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Every day we need the light of God’s word to shine on the pathway, so we do not get lost. If we turn on the light we will see where we are going, and where we need to go.
Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
In whatever circumstances you may be in we need to just praise the Lord and Thank Him for all He has done for us. When we acknowledge His presence in our lives, we will end up giving Him all the Glory. Walking In The Way God Intends is obedience.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen!
*Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Most of us think we can do it ourselves, relying on our own understanding, and relying on money if we have it. Without God, we have no power or ability to save ourselves, nor can we have any, and we cannot plan everything according to our own will. Trust only in God and not rely on your own understanding and He will direct thy paths.
Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
When we try to go alone without God’s people and without accountability, we can fall in to trouble and fall flat on our face. However, together with the counsel of Godly people and everyone focused on God and His word we cannot go wrong.
When I study the word of God I relay on my counsel of my commentaries to aid me, and those that have studied before me to bring clarity and understand to the Word of God.
Proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Our plans are not God’s plans, and our way is not God’s way that He desire for us to pursue. His plan is always better for us and gives us the easiest path to take. We often fall short when we follow our plan in life.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John tells us when the Spirit of truth, has come he will guide you into all truth of God’s word and he will show you things you will need and he will give you the right speech as long as we are obedient to God Will in our lives.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Ask God, if you are lacking something, no matter what it is if God wants to give it to you to aid in His plan for you it will be provided. God will provide for you if it is needed in your life for you to grow.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
James tells us here we need to have faith when we ask believing we will receive. (Name it and claim it) without doubting that we will receive what we are asking for from our God.
Walking in the way God in tends is obedience.
