We are all children of God. Jesus loves you and I. However, because of our sins, we have become estranged from God. Jesus sent His precious Son, who bestowed His mercy and compassion on us. Through today’s message, we learn that Jesus never turns away from those who call upon Him, cling to Him, and pray to Him. He meets everyone, offering healing, mercy, and compassion.
However, most of us are sensitive to our circumstances and try to find solutions on our own, then rely on people or material resources. When we’re sick, we first seek medical advice, and if that doesn’t work, we sink into depression as sadness and suffering accumulate. And finally, we pray to God.
The Bible says, Jesus has Compassion for those who needed healings ….The woman with issue of blood touch the hem of Jesus garment. Said “If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole”. Only after years of seeking worldly solutions that were not effective.
Our you that close to Jesus?
And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge for twelve years came up behind him and touched the hem of his garment.
Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
God always answers our prayers, we see timing here we see that hour, within the hour she was healed. Some people get their healing immediately, some it takes years… Her faith made it happen!
What is the status of your faith today?
Blind Bartimaeus begging along the road he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth. He began to cry out, “Jesus thou son of David have mercy on me”! “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet. But he shouted all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Jesus said to him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ The blind man said to him, ‘Lord, I want to see.’
Mark 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Blind Bartimaeus continued to follow Jesus after his healing “followed Jesus in the way” and glorified Him. Jesus’s following was called by Romans as The Way they labeled them as rebels… Jesus is the way back to a Holy God. “I am the way the truth and the life”
The story of the Ten Lepers healed lifted up their voices saying “Jesus, Master have mercy on us”! Ten met Jesus on the road a far off and lifted up their voices to him. he told them to go show yourself to the priest which was the custom.
Luke 17:19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
There were ten that got healed this day, but only one came back and glorified the Lord and gave thanks for his healing… Many were sick with different issues but all needed healing. It required all of them to have faith that Jesus could heal them and they all called out to Him but few glorified Him after their healing… This man was a Samaritan, and he came back to thank his healer Jesus.
We must ask…
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Wow Jesus is the key, “believing, ye shall receive”. This is telling us clearly, we need to be involved in or participate in the prayer and that we need to believe we will receive. In order to receive. This will require you to have faith in Jesus.
Romans 10:17 So, then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
So, we need to be where the Word of God is preached in order to hear it. That means we need to be in a Bible Believing Church where they preach and teach the word of God.
Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
The word that stands out the most here is every… sickness and every disease how wonderful this is. This tells me that God our Father and Creator can and will heal us if we but ask, Him.
Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Jesus had compassion for the multitude of people that he saw that they fainted, and they were scattered abroad as they had no shepherd. Sounds as if they did not have a true preacher of the word of God that has the heart of compassion for the lost to win them to Christ. This is a sad state of affairs, wow sounds like today doesn’t it….
Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Ten of thousands of lost (plenteous) and hurting people in this world, (the harvest picking fruit) and they all need desperately to be helped. And this verse is telling us that they all need a preacher or someone (laborers or fruit pickers) to tell them about Jesus our Lord and Savior.
And the churches needs pastors who gather around the Bible and spread the gospel, and teachers who teach with faith.
Matthew 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Jesus tells us to pray to the Lord for a good harvest, and that He would send forth the Worker to complete the task of harvesting.
Riverview are you ready to step out in faith and glorify our God, our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ. Are we ready do the work and become the fruit pickers at the harvest here in Woodbridge and tell others what our God has done for us!
Remember
Jesus said to Bartimaeus, “What do you want me to do for you?” Tell him what you need…
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen!
