The Risen Christ, Jesus is Master of our Service. 부활하신 그리스도, 예수님은 우리의 예배 주인이십니다. Part 1
June 2, 2024
Do you realize that our service to God is to the Risen Christ, Jesus is the master of it. Oh, how we long to be successful fishers for Jesus! Or we should at least desire it. Jesus had 12 disciples and they all were not perfect people, and neither are we in fact we are like them in many ways.
But we are tempted to try methods that Jesus would never have tried.
Shall we yield to this suggestion of the enemy? No! Satan is the enemy! Any territory we given up, yes that’s right we given up to Satan is lost territory and we cannot get it back.
Jesus knows what will change us, that’s why he said follow me!
John 21:1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
Sea of Tiberias = “Sea of Galilee.” Tiberias, the capital city of Galilee, gave this epithet to the Sea of Galilee.
shewed he himself. – Perfect timing! Everything God does is perfect timing, right time. Jesus comes when we need him the most
again to the disciples- not all were there a select few problem children, one impulsive, one doubter, one wisecracker, two brawling brothers, John and two unnamed, most of them problem children. All like you and me at some point in our lives.
John 21: 2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
7 disciples – perfect number. Jesus had something special for these 7 and it will be revealed in the sermon Just as Jesus has something for you and me here too! Amen!
We all have problems don’t we. We are not perfect and we don’t always do the right things including me a Pastor. These 7 show us this we all know what they did it is written for us to read Peter denied Jesus three times, Thomas doubted, Nathanael said “Does anything good come out of Nazareth”, son of Zebedee always brawling… we tend to beat ourselves up with our wrong decision making sometimes Peter was down trodden, maybe even depressed at his circumstances…
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
I go a fishing. Went back to what they knew.
We can influence other either in a good way or a bad way, Peter said I go fishing, then the others followed him. We go with thee! Is this what Jesus call them to do go back to the life they had No! we have this issue too we tend to keep the sin that God is trying to rid us of and say this is mine I will go back to what I know… that old life…
That night they caught nothing. – tried to do it on their own without God.
Every time we try it without God, we can do nothing our results is failure.
Have you ever gone fishing some times the fish like it quiet they don’t like a lot of noise you scare them away.. If, we may splash in the water, but we shall never catch the fish. As Christians we can do the same thing we make a lot of noise. We can make a lot of noise but never witness to others. When we make a lot of noise we attract evil. We put ourselves in danger. When we splash around in the water and make a lot of noise you will only attract sharks! We all have a choice to make, will we do it the way Jesus wants or will we decide to be shark bait.
We must follow after Jesus and his example if we would like to succeed.
John 21:4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore –it is always darkest before the dawn, in your struggles Jesus is there!
knew not that it was Jesus- they had forgotten about, their Lord and God.
How quickly we forget when a trial comes into our lives.
When we are struggling! We tend to forget our great and powerful God.
But Joy comes in the morning! Jesus was on the shore! Amen!
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
Children, have ye any meat? – Your results without God!
No.
We need substance, Jesus wants to see the results for the work we do for him. Don’t you want to show him your best?
Now with Jesus with us we can accomplish a lot. Amen! We must follow his instructions.
John 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Cast the net on the right side of the ship- Follow God instructions
As soon as we follow those instructions we will see the results.
Not my way, but thy way!
They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes they caught.
Our Lord’s doctrine and proclaims a full and free gospel, for this is net in which will be filled with the souls are taken in for the Kingdom growth.
Look at the results when you follow God’s instruction, Jochbed–Ark of safety was given great opportunity to raise her own son Moses,
Noah – and his family were saved by the Ark of safety, Abraham and the Tabernacle, Solomn and the Temple are just a few to mention.
If you want God’s blessings on and in your life, you must follow his instructions.
John 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
John said to Peter is it Jesus, now we must understand Peter denied Jesus three times before this his mindset may have been sadden downtrodden probable beating himself up over his decisions. Peter wanted redemption and as soon as he could he allowed his impulses to react quickly and entered the water and headed towards Jesus for forgiveness.
John 21:8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
200 cubits = 300 Feet -not far away, God work is not far away from where you are.
dragging the net-that is hard work but God knows you can do it.
John 21:9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
Jesus had already prepared the food the hungry group, he was going to sup with them, it also shows that he (Jesus) was there the whole time while they were fishing “I am with the always” God and our lord Jesus Chrit are with us through every trial we go through he will never leave us as long as we are close to him.
they saw a fire of coals- in order to get coals the fire and wood had to have been burned down some Jesus was there awhile, possibly praying for his disciples that were struggling on the water. Perhaps,.. Lord forgive them, help them, these men that you gave me to teach….
Thus, we should be coming after Jesus, and not running before Him, nor behind him but along aside of Him, and we shall be fishers of men. Amen!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
