If you have ever seen Niagara Falls it is an amazing force of nature. When you walk alongside the river you will notice an increase in the force of the water as you approach the falls. At one point you see a lake and then you see it break into parts of a river. I am sure that somewhere on the lake there are signs that say point of no return. If you pass the point of no return you will end up over the falls. No one needs to go over the falls.
In Romans chapter 1 apostle Paul tells us “God revealed” to us twice, then he says “God hath shewed” us His mercy and love, His righteousness, and his salvation. God also gave us His Word the Bible. Our problem Paul tells us is we “changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator”.
Apostle Paul goes on to tell us that because of this “God also gave them up” twice to their sin. We should have heeded the warnings He Has given us and forced the change if we do not then “God gave them over to a reprobate mind”. God will leave you to your self-interests.
This is clear that in our life we can get to a place or a time when God says enough is enough! I will no longer extend my mercy to you because of your sin. It is very clear in the book of Revelation that God is angry with his people because of their disobedience. God has made a measure of time and has chosen a place for each person to have a way of escape from our sins, and each one must take that opportunity for themselves to restore that relationship which has been damaged and in need of repair.
Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Reproved- you are under spiritual conviction from Holy Spirit, to make a change. If we let this go with out movement or change God can remove the Holy Spirit from us. There is a line that we cannot cross between God’s mercy and God’s wrath. It is where God grace and mercy become God’s wrath a hidden boundary, we should not cross and then destruction follows.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Stubborn Pride floods in and God and sin can not coexist together in same place for each person.
Hardeneth his neck- you got that stiff neck. And have turn to God and said I am not going to do that! This is where willful disobedience comes into your life and it is harder to turn back. It becomes a serious fight… struggle. We become willfully rebellious. Harden our hearts and ears to the word of God.
Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Then procrastination sets in and we say, we will do it later or tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes, because when it is tomorrow it is today!
Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. – Here is no turning back from this point, you have actually gone passed the point of no return “that without remedy”. Remember the rich man was in hell, and he turn to God and said Father Abraham send Lazarus to dip his finger in water to give me a drop. God at this point will leave you alone. Heed the warnings signs!
Yes, you have passed the point of no return… Don’t go there! Danger Stay away!
Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
God winked– means God previously overlooked a time when people did not know the full truth. God now tells everyone to change their ways and turn back to Him. This marks a change from quiet patience to a direct call for action because Jesus Christ came to earth.
Commandeth all men every where to repent-This is God’s command. Not a request.
Mans way of thinking or a worldly viewpoint.
2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
God shall send them strong delusion- God sends a powerful false influence so that people who reject the truth will believe a lie.
That they should believe a lie- God sends a powerful false influence/ influencer so that people who reject the truth will believe a lie.
Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Gave them over to a reprobate mind- that describes a person who has continually rejected God’s truth until their conscience is hardened and they can no longer tell right from wrong. I am done dealing with you! Do as you please judgement will come to you.
2 Thessalonians 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
This verse tells us that-all might be damned who believed not the truth. These are those that love pleasure rather than the truth. Those who do not believe are destined for hell. Because of their unbelief. We have a complete description of these people.
2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
God loves each one of you and he wants all to come to him, do not get to the point of no return where you cannot get back to a Holy God. Heed the warnings signs and come to him today!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen!
Pray that Jesus will enter in your life and dwell in your heart today!
