As we search scripture, we find many miracles performed by God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus from Genesis through Revelation. Creation of Heavens and the Earth is one of the most magnificent.
Most people in the world are skeptics and do not believe. Most of them will believe a lie before they will believe the truth of any of these the miracles that have been proven to be facts.
What is a miracle? A miracle is a highly improbable or extraordinary event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of the divine.
As we continue to read scripture, we find more and more miracles occurring. Consider just a few.
Abraham & Sarah giving birth to Isaac. (Genesis 21: 1-7)
Noah and the Ark. (Genesis 6ch – 8ch)
Moses parting the Rea Sea crossing on dry land. (Exodus 14: 21-22 )
Mana coming down from heaven. (Exodus 16:4)
Jonah inside the belly of a whale. (Jonah 1-17)
Daniel in the lion’s den. (Daniel 6:19-22)
These were all chosen by God to fulfill His will. How can we not see this or forget it.
In New Testament many miracles that were performed by Jesus. Most of those were in front of witnesses. This would lead to his death. Consider.
Turning the water to wine.
Healing the blind,
Healing the lepers,
Casting out demons,
Making the lame to walk again.
Feeding the five thousand.
Walking on water.
The disciples wrote about them so we would have an accurate account of them to recall. Jesus was told the Pharisees “I came to do the will of the one who sent me.” Yet so many still do not believe.
We have a real problem here too many skeptics and they are causing those that believe to fall away and believe the lies that Satan and the world has filled them with.
Last week we talked about Salvation and Spiritual Transformation: Many sources argue that the greatest Gift of God is the spiritual transformation of a person experiences when they accept Jesus and are “born again”. This internal change from a life of sin to a life of faith is considered more impactful than a physical signs, as it has eternal implications. We must accept Jesus to obtain salvation and spiritual transformation.
The Greatest Miracle of mercy was given to us. As the most important miracle.
Mary’s conception by the Holy Spirit.
Miracle of the Incarnation: The miracle of God becoming a human being in the person of Jesus Christ (the Nativity) is also considered by some to be the greatest miracle, demonstrating God’s humility and willingness to enter human history to save humanity. God’s love for humanity allowed Him to create a plan or a way for sinful to restore himself to a holy God. God send His only son into the world to overcome the pure evil that is in this present world. Judgement for every man and women.
This Greatest Miracle was foretold by the prophet Isaiah, then told to the king Ahaz king of Judah because he was seeking a sign from the Lord concerning war. Why do we ask the Lord for a Sign? We do this far too often. We are people always seeking a sign. So, God on several occasions has sent signs to us.
Isaiah 7:13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
We need to discover this in scripture that we should not make our God weary by our unbelief. Most of the recounts in the Bible tell us that God’s people waivered in their faith. This was referring to the Roman occupation of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus birth.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. = (God with us)
This is the greatest miracle in itself. The angel Gabriel, sent from God to speak to Mary concerning this miracle.
Luke 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
Mary was espoused to Joseph; prearranged marriage was common in this time.
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
JESUS= (He shall save his people from their sins)
God chose Mary to fulfill His will here on earth his plan and to also fulfill the prophecy that was foretold to prophet Isaiah.
Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
This was confusing to Mary seeing she had not been with any man yet. How can this be? This is impossible without two people one male and one female procreating. This is the part of the miracle and will ever be done again.
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
I love what the Angel said here…. However our God is the God of impossibilities, and He makes it possible. To often we forget our God can do anything.
Both Mary and Joseph made their decisions after an angel of the Lord appeared unto them, saying, fear not that which is conceived in Mary is of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
God chose Joseph and Mary to fulfill this prophecy. Joseph and Mary being obedient followed the Lord instruction and followed through with God’s will. Both Mary and Joseph were chosen for God’s to plan.
As was everyone before them that were chosen by God, Abraham, Sarah, etc… to help us believe the truth of God’s word. One, to fulfill prophecy. Two to Glorify God. Notice all that were willing were blessed because of their following God’s will. Just as our obedience is our key to our success in the family of God! Theirs was too.
Matthew 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
God with us, this is The Greatest Miracle we could ever ask for because this is how we can obtain our salvation.
JESUS= (He shall save his people from their sins) Believing that Jesus is God’s only son is the key to everlasting life. This is The Greatest Miracle to all. Amen.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Amen.
