The Good Father is the Our Heavenly Father, which gave us the breath of life.
He is the beginning of all life, and the end of all life. (you and me )
Our Heavenly Father is the Alpha and Omega!
Yes, we have a physical father who has given us our earthly life.
Today we will talk about earthly father’s responsibility.
All who try to be good fathers should follow the steps that our Heavenly Father has given in his word.
The Good Father will cry and pour out his heart to the Lord our God.
Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Fathers need to know Our Heavenly Father before you will be a father. God has an order to everything men to be the head of the Household as Christ is the head of the Church. His order to women to be submissive to their husbands. These two together will teach, lead, and guide the children of their youth. The Good father will thank his wife for helping him to become a good father.
Most fathers started out in life with good intentions to be prosperous in this world. These are worldly intentions. We focus on homes, cars, jobs, money, fame, education. Also, men who choose their own pleasure fail because they do not take care of their family’s needs. When we do this, it takes away from our fellowship & service time with God. When we take God’s time for ourselves, we have failed in our responsibility.
Remember the idols that were taken from Laban and Jacob had them buried the gods that his wives and concubines had brought from Haran at the place call Shechem (Genesis 35:2–4) Cast out idolatry! What is Idolatry? Anything that takes away from God’s Time.
No one ever plans to fail. But we do fail miserably, don’t we? Sometimes we don’t know what to do, then we get frustrated and anger…. See what happen… we have a solution to our problem it is to turn to God and allow Him to change us. Do not let go of him. The very first thing we must do is to choose to follow him.
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
The Good Father will choose the right thing and know we have a jealous God!
Choose you this day whom ye will serve- All fathers have to make a choice early in life as to whom they will serve. This is extremely important choice because it is a life-or-death choice. God or Satan!
But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD- This verse helps us to make the right choice and it is a great verse to memorize to keep all fathers on track.
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Abba, Father= Father or dad, it also shows us Adoption, Personal.
Adoption = A legal and social process by which a person or couple becomes the legal parent(s) of a child who is not biologically their own. The concept of adoption is also used metaphorically in the New Testament to describe the spiritual adoption of believers as children of God.
Niah & Allisha will be with us next week. I have known Niah from a young boy and now he has a wonderful ministry with his wife Allisha. They are beginning the adoption process, and this young couple are truly on fire for God! They know God’s word, and I am certain that they will teach their child the truths of God word. Amen! What a good example to show to their supporters. We need to pray more for them as the process moves forward. As we understand that process, it can help us to understand our own adoption process that spiritual adoption of believers as children of God.
Because ye are sons, God= We belong to him so we should follow him. We have been adopted.
God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts=God has left us with the Holy spirit to help us along the way, we may stumble and fall but he is there to pick us up or carry us across the danger zone to safety, but we must follow him.
We can now cry, Abba, Father= When we follow God, we then, can have a relationship with him, and can call our God, Dad. Isn’t this a wonderful privilege. This makes it more personal for us and we can get to know him better. Call on Him for all our help.
The Good Father will read God’s word.
1John 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
I have written unto you, fathers and young men= So you may know, who God is, and if you have read the scriptures, you will know and gain wisdom and knowledge.
Because ye have known him= You may obtain blessings of knowledge and wisdom.
Ye are strong, and the word of God= we gain our strength for God’s word, and it causes us to change.
God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. = when we except God in our lives we gain the power to overcome Satan and all his weak attacks. He is no match against God.
The Good Father will not provoke his children in a bad way.
Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath. =The Good Father will encourage his children to read the word and follow the Lord Jesus Christ teachings.
Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. The Good Father will teach his children to love the Lord and to always pray and give honor to God. He will show them he is the creator of all life.
Nurture and admonition= bringing them up at an early age to love the Lord God Almighty, not waiting until they are out of control. They will do it all their life. Showing them by example and allowing them to learn in Church fellowship too. The children of the good father will do the work of the gospel throughout their lives. Set the example for your children and teach them to learn church fellowship through faithful in service. A good father is the best father who loves God and sets an example for a life of service.
We need to say, Thank you! Thank you, to my precious father, for walking with the Lord on the path of a good father’s life, and for taking good care of our family. Your example of hard work even in the event of sadness or sickness or difficult times. You have set a mark to help us live a perfect life.
Please do not hold back your gratitude to the good father of the flesh who has guided you. Be sure to remember that your parents are great and worthy of your children’s respect. Do not speak, act, or express yourself arrogantly in front of your parents. The Bible says if we do we lose our blessings.
No one has a perfect earthly father. No not one!
Some fathers have passed, and we cannot change anything, but those who still have them love them, more. Do your best for them.
The father that gives thanks to the Lord and prays and set the right example and shows his children how to worship the Lord Jesus, merits infinite love, and forgiveness, because he is teaching and setting the standard by which God will judge all. He also gives his family the hope of heaven.
The Good Father will help them to learn this verse so they will have it hidden in their hearts.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Amen!
