The true meaning of the church?

The church is the body of Christians—all the people who accept Christ’s gift of salvation and follow Christ’s teachings. It is much more than a building.

Church is the body of Christ.

Man has a Body = Body, Mind, Soul =image of God.   God the father, Jesus the Son, Holy Spirit.     Trinity three in one. Triune God!

The church leadership must

be on the same page.

Mind= Views like Jesus- love of Jesus, decern the word of God-we must know Jesus

Eyes=see and able to describe it. –Read the word

Ears=hear, listen.- word of God.

Hands= touch, feel, & do work- of God.

Feet=move, stand, help to walk amongst the people 

Mouth= to speak of the word of God you received.

How will they hear without a preacher? Faith comes by hearing by the word of God!

God’s word says,

In the Bible, “church” never refers to a building. It always refers to people—the people who follow Jesus Christ.

Where two or three are gathered I am in the misted!

Matthew16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Jesus wanted to know what the people said about him.

Matthew16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

He was none of these, he was the Messiah, the Son of the living God they all were looking for.

Matthew16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Why would not all of them say it they had been

Matthew16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Amen! Peter, the one known for always speaking first before thinking finally got it right. Amen!

Matthew16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Peter knew Jesus, and it was revealed to him by God.    Do you know Jesus?

Matthew16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Jesus is referring to, Peter as a leader.

Peter as a representative of the leadership of the church, and or the Church in general, Peter a founding father of all Churches

The bases of faith of Peter this church will be built.

A group of people called out, who follow Jesus Christ and do his will.

This is the Church Jesus is speaking about.

Our churches today have to thank Peter for his faith.

Our faith can defeat hell and its dangers.

1John 3:8

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.

 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost.  He came to defeat Satan once and for all.

Matthew16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

If you’re given the keys to something it must be valuable. It is a position of trust. You’re trustworthy. It is important to the master. God chose you!

This is twofold it refers to the Old testament gates of the city of Jerusalem and the 12 Gates in heaven representing 12 tribes of Israel.

Revelation 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Both these are important to God! they have value to God! Peter may be the key holder of the gate keys.

Whatever it is it is important to God!

Matthew16:20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

They were looking to have Jesus kill because he was telling the truth.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
