In the iconic pictures above, we see The Japanese surrendering to the US troops on board a battleship, the other is one man yielding his life to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to his creator the second one is a sweeter surrender for we end up with everlasting life. The first show the defeat and hence a feeling of disappointment of a Nation.
To Surrender implies defeat and hence a feeling of disappointment and bitterness must be associated with it. Then perhaps anger and discontentedness. Later we realized that our belief was true only if surrender followed a defeat, but it does not have to be that way.
Surrender means= cease resistance to an enemy or opponent and submit to their authority.
Resistance = fight against it
Submit = yield control to it.
It Also could mean: Self-Surrender; Surrender; Unconditional Surrender
When I was a child I surrendered to my parents, especially my mother, even without realizing it. I never questioned her authority or complained about her decisions. On the contrary, I was comfortable and peaceful. I knew that she was always looking out for me and making all the decisions about my life with the best intentions about my future. I did not have any worries. That was Sweet Surrender! Children being in obedience is better than sacrifice.
When people get married there is always a battle for who will decide to make major decisions, but it could lead to contention if no one yields, and when one yields it will become a Sweet Surrender and you will bring prosperity. We all have a time to be born and a time to die when we are willing to follow God and follow him that is a sweet surrender.
At old age people surrender to their adult children for care and responsibility. We must respect one another. Then we will see sweet surrender. Sweet surrender causes us to go to our eternal home.
Finally, there is surrender to God. It is the Sweetest Surrender of all. Why is it the sweetest? Jesus is there for all sinners. Also, it is where we can obtain the salvation of the Lord. When we surrender God’s love is present and we obtain eternal life, from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We should be thankful to God for parents, spouses, children, siblings, and friends that surrender that are given the salvation of the Lord. We all need to be Surrender to the Holy Spirit of God too. Surrender / submission will help us in our Walk with the Lord. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no man commeth to the father but by or through me.
When we surrender to our Lord and Savior Jesus it is like first fresh fruits, that have been given away for all to enjoy, and that is Sweet Surrender to our Lord. Amen. The first fruits actually come to you first, then you can give it out.
Think of the gardener, who plants he receives the first harvest. Think of your work, you work and receive a paycheck. Think of your home, you experience the joy of happiness if your home is happy. Think of your church, when you are enriched in your faith when our church is revived. Think of word of God. It is all blessings when you have sweet surrender. We Should Selah! Meditate on this! Harken unto the word of God!
Remember Jesus said, in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus speaking unto his disciples said.
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
What is meant by his Cross? It is personal. It is your cross. Whatever your burdens are you have to carry them, no one else can carry your cross for you. Jesus came to this earth for Sinners. He came for our disobedient hearts towards God. His suffering pain and sorrow is for our Sins. We need to be obedient to God the Father and repent and confess our sins and let Him wash them away. Leave those sins that were washed away on the cross, don’t go back and get them back.
The Cross was for every sin ever committed past, present, and future. Everything is laid on the cross unforgiveness, hatred, unkindness, and death. Jesus came so he may show us forgiveness, love, kindness, death, healing, new life, joy and comfort, happiness, giving, prosperity, hope and Grace. When we learn of Him, we become blessed and that is sweet and it takes away the defeat, disappointment, and bitterness. The Cross should not be taken lightly, everyone must respect and honor the meaning of the cross.
We need to have a Sweet Surrender of all our sins to Jesus on the cross and leave those sins there. Don’t go back and get them. When you believe it and receive Salvation. That’s why we Sweetly Surrender to Him. Amen. Love Jesus for what he did for you.
Cast out all evil in your heart and temptation in your life. Jesus gives all Power for us to overcome all evil. Remember God keeps the record of our sins both good and bad. Fear the Lord, not worldly things. We should not despise a brother or a sister, or others but only encourage them in the word of the Lord. Kind words are better than sweet honey.
Anyone who comes to ask or needs to help, please pray and diligently and carefully, earnestly, seek for something with cheerful optimistic results. We do not deserve any thing but punishment, but by God grace upon us, with His unconditional love to us given freely, without limitations or conditions, and without expecting anything in return. Amen.
You and I are to bring the Sweet Surrender in Christian followship to others in obedience to God.
Self-Denial
We must have a willingness to deny oneself possessions or status, in order to grow in holiness and be commitment to God. This practice is commended and illustrated by Jesus Christ himself and it underlies Christian fellowship within the church. This will create a heart change in many as we draw closer to God.
The hardest person to deny is yourself.
(Both pride and arrogancy affect us!) We become blind to our own sin.
The richest man in the world will struggle with his salvation because of his pride… and have a hard time entering heaven.
Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
The life you find is everlasting Life.
Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Nothing in this present world.
We need to work together don’t despise anyone!
No one is better than anyone. No one is above anyone.
No nationality is above anyone. No race is above any other either.
Does anyone have a problem with that?
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Do you have works saved up for your reward? This is for your sake.
It’s here to help you. Some of us need to get to work for God.
Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Rapture of the Church era… Not everyone will sleep, caught up to be with the Lord in the air… Amen!
Our prayer should be I have surrendered to you completely and unconditionally. Just show me the way and I will follow…”. I believe that this should be our prayer to a loving kind and compassionate God a God who Loves us all.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
