Paul said in his letter to the church at Galatia
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him- Paul said, to the Galatian church he marveled at how quickly and easily they were removed from God’s Grace and Jesus Christ’s teachings. Our God was silent for 400 years between the Old Testament and New Testament and in the New Testament. We are under a New Covenant, and we are all saved by Grace of God. If God never extended his Grace we would be lost forever.
“How can you act lightly on the gospel and remove yourself from God with stubbornness, arrogance, and complaints in your thoughts feelings and excuses?”
Doesn’t it make you marvel to hear people miss quote the Bible? It does me, but it teaches me that these men and woman do not know the real word of God correctly. Therefore, they need to be taught correctly to Rightly Divide the Word of God.
Him that called you into the grace of Christ- Jesus called them to the saving grace of God’s Salvation that takes away our sins and sets us straight.
Unto another gospel- There is no other gospel. Not today, not tomorrow, nor in the future. They were falling for a false teachings of a false gospel. Hold on there is only ONE Gospel message that can save you. It is Believing on the Name of Jesus! “There is no other name written down in heaven whereby men may be saved” Jesus is that name. Amen!
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Neither is there salvation in any other- You will only find that Jesus offers salvation.
For there is none other name under heaven given among men- No other name under heaven. Where is under heaven? Earth. Who is here? Men and women, we cannot put our trust in because they will fail you for sure.
Whereby we must be saved- only Jesus can save, no other.
This is very clear isn’t it. Not a man or a woman, not a priest, or Jewish leader could offer what Jesus offered at Calvary.
Rightly Dividing the Word of God is what we are told to do. We have an obligation to making sure if we give out the Word of God correctly, and that we are doing it properly. God gives us help to accomplish this, by having others pass down the infallible living word of God. Amen!
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God-If we do not study it will show, because we will never get comfortable telling others about our God and what he has done for us
A workman that needeth not to be ashamed-If you’re working for Jesus you don’t need to be ashamed about your service. To those who are ashamed of Jesus, remember he can and will deny you before the Father.
Rightly dividing the word of truth- As we study the Word of God the Holy Spirit will lead you and guide you through the word, and help you to rightly divide it, so you will have the true meaning of what God is saying to you.
Many martyred disciples / apostles have gone before us to preserve the Word of God and have lost their lives for this cause, so we have a copy of God’s Holy Word. We would be lost without the Word of God in our lives. We must preserve it for the next generation because it is our responsibility. It’s not just the Pastor and his wife, and the deacons, and their wives this is the church, everyone’s responsibility. We need to give the word of God out. Amen!
Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Which is not another-There is only one book that can save a men and women. Its called the Bible. There is only one that can save his name is Jesus. There is no other, and if we were to believe it, we would be fooled.
There be some that trouble you-There will be others that will tell you if you are a good person and don’t get involved you will be ok. The Bible teaches us about false teaching and says it will come in the end times. The devil is really trying to keep us from being saved. So, he may send a friend, a neighbor, or even a belove family member. Please don’t be fooled by this trickery.
And would pervert the gospel of Christ- Here is where we can see the true colors and intention of those that teach a false doctrine. The verse tells us that they will pervert the gospel of Christ. When we pervert the gospel, we change it from its original intent. Remember, Satan tempting Jesus in the wilderness, he perverted the Word of God. And in the garden too.
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
But though we, or an angel from heaven- Even the fallen angels know how to glorify the LORD God Almighty. So, if they do we should. So, if we preach wrong doctrine or and angel from heaven does, we will bring the judgement of God upon us and believe me it will be swift and just.
Preach any other gospel unto you-Many false teachers will be present in the end time. There will be more of them, and the word of God says “there will be a great falling away.”
That which we have preached unto you-Paul preached unto them Jesus and his gospel message of salvation. And converted many.
*Let him be accursed- If we do, we will be cursed.
Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again-Paul repeats what they have already taught them about the Gospel.
If any man preaches any other gospel unto you- Is there another gospel? Is there a different way to heaven, or a different way to the Father in heaven? No! Absolutely not! It is clear in scripture “that there is no way to the father but by the way of Jesus Christ Himself.”
Than that ye have received- Than that, which has already been presented to you by Paul, Barnabus, and Silas. Amen!
*Let him be accursed- If we don’t, we will be cursed. Paul really warns us, to get this he put it in two verses. To tell us don’t be fool by any false teaching, or enticement of man, women, Satan, or fallen angels. That is right, those fallen angel are helping Satan in his “seeking whom he may devour.”
Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
For do I now persuade men, or God? -Paul persuaded men, but man will never persuade God.
Do I seek to please men? – No, we should not be here to serve men. We were created for God’s good pleasure.
If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ- No one can serve two masters for he will love, one and hate the other.
The Study of God’s Word is extremely important to our spiritual growth, we need to understand it and learn from it. It will help us to follow instructions of God. Once this occurs, we can Rightly Divide the Word of God with confidence. Then we will share it with others.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Selah! Amen!
