Partakers of the Divine Nature
Partaker =A person who joins in an activity or action.
Partakers of the Divine Nature
To be a partaker of the divine nature it is not, of course, to become God. That cannot be. It will never be our place to be a god. The essence of Deity is not to be participated in by the creature. We are God’s Creation, and he is our Creator. There must be a gulf fixed between the creature and the Creator, so we can have respect for the essence of his Deity. In other words, to be a partaker of the divine nature we the creation must be separated from the creator God. We cannot be a deity. This separation allows us to have communication with the creator, it’s called our prayer life. We all can improve on this, including myself.
Partakers of His Holy Spirit
As the first man Adam was made in the image of God, so were we. The image of God in many ways, the concept serves to distinguish human persons from all that God had created plants and animals. So, we are yet more distinguished than the plants and animals. Because we are more distinguished and are made in the image of God, He has allowed us a unique opportunity by the renewal of the Holy Spirit, (we are offered salvation) which plant and animals are not and we are in a yet diviner sense made in the image of the Most High God and become partakers of his divine nature as well. If we repent and confess and ask Jesus to enter our hearts (salvation) and allow him to dwell there, God will then allow the Holy Spirit to take up residency in our hearts and live in us. We must make that choice all on our own.
Partakers of His True Love.
We are, by His grace, made like God. God is love; so, we become love – He that loveth is born of God.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
God is truth; we become true, and we love that which is true:
John 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
Because we have heard his word and testimony and believed it. We can know God is true, true in love, and true in kindness. God is good, and he makes us good by His grace, so that we become the pure in heart who shall see God. We will become in a sense just like Him. Moreover, we become partakers of the divine nature in even a higher sense than this—in fact, in as lofty a sense as can be conceived, short of our being absolutely divine. Being one with Jesus—so one with Him that the branch is not more one with the vine than we are a part of the Lord, our Saviour, and our Redeemer! The Vine is what feeds us our nourishment, without the Vine the branch would whither to nothing. We could never be the same as Him. Personally speaking I may look like my father but I am not my father, I am his son.
While we rejoice in this, let us remember that those who are made partakers of the divine nature will manifest their high and holy relationship in their interaction with others, and make it evident by their daily walk and conversation that they have escaped the corruption that is in the world.
We will notice the difference in that person; they will display traits that are consistent with the partaking of that divine nature. We all need to strive to do this in our lives. Make the change that God wants us to make and don’t look back. When we look back, we again are lured by that old sin nature and could stumble and fall and lose the race. Remember Lot’s wife. We don’t want that at all. Neither does God, that is why He has made us a way out of that old nature. What is the way?
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the only true way to get to our divine father in heaven. He has shared with us the truth of God’s word. Jesus has offered to us his life for our salvation of sin. No man has done that for us but Jesus alone. When we believe Jesus, we become partakers of His grace and peace. We then can make it back to the Father.
Partakers of His Grace and Peace
2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you-one this is formal greeting by Peter as he writes this letter. Two it is Grace and peace obtained from God and is multiplied through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord. If we want to obtain this grace and peace. Peter tells us we need to know who God is. How do we know Him? By studying His word. When we know He multiply unto you His Grace and peace. We must know and love our God, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must realize that God wants us to be at peace within this chaotic world. We need to be prayer partakers for one another. Also, He gives us grace every day we are alive. God also gives us many years of mercy when we have not yet made the decision to follow Him as we are instructed. Thank you, Jesus! Amen!
God’s love for us is shown to us in;
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
