Where you have churches and people you will have problems!

It matters how you deal with the problems!

There is no perfect Church.

There is no perfect Pastor.

There is no perfect Congregation.

Because we are all imperfect people.

Paul’s letter to those churches at Galatia, written about 60-57  A.D. during his Visit to Corinth. Galatia had some Legalizers and Judaizer amongst them.

1. The teaching of obedience to the Law was mingled with faith as a ground of sinner’s justification. – Denying the fact of guilt with sin.
2. That justified believer is made perfect by keeping the law. – No one can keep all the Old Testament laws and become perfect or be without sin.

We are all sinner’s saved by Grace of God!

You Cannot work for grace.  Grace is freely given. Grace is the Gift of God to us ward that believe in the Death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ

Grace is part of God’s Nature / Character

Galatians 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Paul’s Formal Greeting to those at Galatia, he also expresses the love of God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ to them.  Grace be to you and peace is given to all who will except it.

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Paul says, remember the Lord Jesus Christ gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, and that it was all the plan of God the Father.

How else can we save ourselves from this present world? You and I cannot do it on our own merit or will! It could only come for a Holy God!

We can do nothing apart from God!

We are nothing without him!

Galatians 1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

All our Glory honor and praise should be Given to God the Father, God the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the God the Holy Spirit. The Great three in one. The Triune God! Amen!

Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:  

I marvel- that we remove ourselves from God’s presence in our lives, and sometimes so quickly. It may seem like a great idea at the time, but we soon find out what a mistake it was.

ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ – Paul marveled at how quickly people strayed I their doctrine and faith. (so soon removed) they were also removed from God who called them by grace to his side.

unto another gospel-there is only one Gospel that can offer everyone everlasting life, The Gospel Message of Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior.

Watch out for false teaching and things that tickle the ear.

Search the scripture to see if it says what they say it does.

Seek commentary of others that have stuck close to the word of God and follow their advice.

Galatians 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Pervert = to change from its original intention,  Perverting the Word of God

There be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel – Legalizers and Judaizer! – debating the issues. How did Jesus deal with the Pharisees. – Scripture

How did Jesus deal with the Satan. – Scripture

And would pervert the gospel of Christ-These same Legalizers and Judaizer were perverting the message of Jesus. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ and acceptance of his plan of salvation and through our confession and true repentance. “It is not our works lest any man boast.”

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.  Only God’s plan of Salvation can save you!

Buddhism no gospel.        Confucianism no gospel.      Hinduism no gospel.

Muslims no gospel.         Jehovah Witness no gospel.

We can’t save ourselves by being a good person!

If we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you- There is no New Gospel out there don’t be fooled by any of them. Does not matter where they came from heaven or offer to you by men.

Than that which we have preached unto you-if it is different from God’s written word.  It is false or it is false doctrine.

let him be accursed- If they are giving you new or false doctrine Paul say let them be cursed.  Paul is adamant about this!  Look at what it says in next verse!

Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Paul says; I Gave to you the correct Instruction from God’s word!

If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed- Paul is so confident that he even says this twice to get his point across. If it does not match what I have given you it is wrong, false and incorrect.
