We all love the words a Lifetime Guarantee! Only Jesus gives us A Lifetime Guarantee. A Lifetime Guarantee is great as long as the company honors it. If they don’t it is worthless. As Christian believers we have a Lifetime Guarantee when we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts and relinquish control to Him. Amen! We hold on to that won’t we. As Christian believer we are also are under divine influence, we are influenced by the Holy Spirit (the Comforter that Jesus left with the disciples at the day of Pentecost) encouraging us to do what is correct, and the moral thing to do in any circumstance we will encounter in our lives. We must hold on to that divine influence and never let it go. This passage warns us if we separate ourselves from the Holy Spirit, we will lose superior knowledge, and wisdom. We don’t want that. We don’t want to suffer a loss for our lack of knowledge. When this happens then we will be living as brute beasts, guided simply by their own lusts and passions, then we fall into sin, and lose the Holy Spirit presence of our lives. Hold fast to the Divine influence which ye have received, and under that influence making prayer and supplication to God a daily occurrence.
Hold on to the Church
Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
When we come into God house, we learn how to have Praise and Worship, learn God’s word and His teachings, and we learn how to pray. We need to be faithful in this coming into the house of God. Because our prayers will not be sent up if we are not in a right relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Together we can help others to build up our faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ especially when we pray for one another. This is why Wednesday night is important for the church and the people here at Riverview or anywhere we are.
Hold on to the love, mercy and hope of God
Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
This passage is telling us that we need to focus on the love of God and His mercy that He bestows upon each one of us. Share that mercy and love with those in the Church caring for them showing our deep concern for their condition, giving them a helping hand lifting them up to your God in prayer. Amen! When we do this we will keep looking for His guidance and His leading in our lives.
Jude combines the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost: and faith, hope, and love. Keep yourselves—not in your own strength, but “in the love of God,” that is, God’s love to you and all. As His believing children, we hold the only guarantee for their being kept safe. Man’s need of watching is implied; at the same time, he cannot keep himself, unless God in His love keeps him. We are watching for his return, and we are watching to keep ourselves in a right relationship with our God by being obedient to his instructions to us. This will lead to our eternal life or what we will call our Lifetime Guarantee!
We are all looking for love, hope and mercy along our journey, but because of our disobedience we have caused sorrow, suffering, and pain to come in our lives. When we were not living according to His word and direction we would suffer a loss. We should repent and confess quickly and make things right, so we can obtain our Lifetime Guarantee!
The mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ will be fully manifested at His coming. Mercy is usually attributed to the Father: here to the Son; they are entirely one. The trinity represents the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit the triune God. Mercy is displayed by the Father and Son shows us the compassion and love that God has for his creation, and love that the Son displays is His death on the cross for our sins. God’s Plan for our salvation is also an expression of His love extended to you and me. We must realize God Loves You and wants none of us to go to the pit of hell. Amen!
Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
The general meaning of this exhortation is we are to make a difference and have compassion on those who have been led away by weakness and imprudence, and those who, in the pride and arrogance of their hearts, and their unwillingness to submit to wholesome discipline. Those that have sinned and have not confessed or repented. Those that have separated themselves from the Church environment and God are at risk. Yes! God’s word says be anger, but sin not. It also says we must forgive if we want to be forgiven for our sins. The way we make a difference is to fulfill the word of God by applying it to our lives.
Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Garment spotted by the flesh= a long garment clothing of this world.
Snatching (Greek –harpazō) them out of the fire! a most narrow escape a brand plucked from the burning. You were chosen by God to be rescued from the pit of hell, and you have been clothed in a garment of righteousness. We do not want to slowly pull some one out of the fire we do it urgently and quickly. It is a life-or-death situation.
Amos 4:11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.
Sodom and Gomorrah- wicked and ungodly cities (Lot’s wife and his family)
Firebrand= a burning stick taken out of the fire.
We must return to the Lord and worship him alone. Make God the Lord of your life. When we turn back to our God and Creator, He will save us! He truly is Mighty to save each one of us from all our sin if we repent and confess it to him.
Here is our Lifetime Guarantee for doing this.
Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jesus will present you to God the Father as righteous and blameless worthy of salvation of the Lord.
Jude 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Forever more! A lifetime in eternity in the presence of his glory! Amen!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
