We all have a hard time admitting this to anyone.
All Christians will be blessed; but we assume we are not because we may come upon some sort of suffering in our lives. Those who with patience and constancy go through all difficulties along the way and fulfill their duties to God. They will be blessed. Afflictions can make us miserable if it is our own fault. In other words, we can handle it with God. When we follow God, he will take all afflictions away from us. The tried Christian shall be the crowned one. The crown of life is promised to all who have the love of God reigning in their hearts. Every soul that truly loves God, shall have their trials in this world. It is how we handle them. Sometimes we get angry with God because we go through suffering or afflictions. Are we going to take vengeance from God? No! That is wrong! God tells us, “Vengeance is mine saith the Lord.”
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Let no man say- James cautions Christians against interpreting temptations of their sinful desires as a test from God. As James makes clear; humans alone are responsible for choosing to sin.
When he is tempted- It is one’s own desire that tempts into sin. However, our sufferings for the sake of the gospel are a testing of our faith to God. Are you worthy of the reward?
I am tempted of God- God cannot tempt us, He cannot sin. So, he will not tempt others to sin, and He is not to be held responsible in any way for our sin.
God cannot be tempted with evil- God and evil cannot mix it is like oil & water. It will never mix. It is not in his Nature.
Neither tempteth he any man- God has never tempted anyone. Only Satan!
James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Drawn away- drawn away from truth and virtue.
Man is tempted, when he/she is drawn away of their own lust-it is our own thoughts not and our own mind that draws us away. We believe our own lies.
Enticed= The Greek word deleazō (del-eh-ad’-zo) describes drawing in an unsuspecting victim with an attractive bait or lure. Sin will do it every time.
James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
First the sin must enter the eye gate, (lust) and then it enters the mind, and you run through many scenarios, (conceive) and then it enters the heart( you make the decision to act upon your plan and then you commit the action to bring it to completion or execution.
James 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. – do not make a mistake, it could cost you your life. Do not fall prey to Satan and his sin.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Blessed is the man- Sounds like it is compared to the sermon on the mount in Matthew chapter 5 it is similar but if you want to be blessed you must follow Jesus’ instructions.
Endureth= implies it is a journey that we must go through by ourselves, with God. If we do it on our own we are doomed to fail.
That endureth temptation- God does not want us to fall in to it, James 1:2 “Count it all Joy”, Job 5:17 “happy is the man whom God correcteth” it shows that he loves us “despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty” do not get upset if God corrects you, it for your own good.
When he is tried- when you are tested, and pass through, and our faith gaining victory.
He shall receive the crown of life- did you know winners receive the crown it symbolizes they are the winner of the race. Not everyone gets a crown. Some will make it, but their works will be burnt up wood hay and stubble. They will not have a crowns to cast at Jesus feet.
Lord hath promised- if he promised who are we to contradict Him. We need to be thankful for the blessing.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Every good gift- Every that is good, is good because God created it. It would not be good if men & women play a role in it. Why? Because it comes from the one who is perfect in every way. Men & women are made with an imperfection called sin, this after the fall in the Garden. That is why Jesus came so that you and I may avoid the penalty of that Sin.
Every perfect gift- Every gift God gives is perfect in every way. And he has given it to us to do His will in this present world to aid and guide others to Him.
Is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights- everything that we receive comes down from Heaven above, pure light, pure love, and pure joy. I think we need to be extremely thankful for he has His eyes on us. We need to fill our hearts His pure with love. Not anger or hatred, jealousy, and envy of this world.
There is no variableness, neither shadow of turning-There is never a change in God or His word, man has made all the changes. Trust in Him! Only trust Him!
God and His word is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Amen!
When refining gold, they burn off what they call dross it is an impurity that is not need and the result is pure gold. God is not the author of the dross, though his fiery trials in our lives exposes it. Don’t you want your impurities to be removed? All those imperfections were removed. God is trying to make you and I a more perfect person. So, we have to do our part by allowing Him to move us to a place where we can see our imperfections and we change them. Amen!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
