Today we want to Honor all Mother’s today we celebrate Mother’s day. Isn’t everyday Mother’s Day? We celebrate them for all that they have done over the years for each one of us. They have cared for us, prayed for us, fed us when we were hungry, clothed us, gave us warmth when we were cold, and have loved us in spite of our disobedience to them.
There are many different types of mothers. Good mothers, bad mothers, mothers who seek fame, mothers who seek riches. Independent, self-working and hard-working mother’s Great mothers, and Loving mothers. Above all are the Godly mothers who follow God no matter what and share that with their children. Whether or not your mother is living we still must honor them and we are thankful for the memories we have of them. Any one heard of “Mom’s House Rules” Mom’s rule the home! “Momma not happy no one is happy!” We all need to care for our mothers, it is the right thing to do.
God’s word tells us of some mothers.
Eve=Life
Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Anyone who has life can trace back their linage to mother of all life Eve. Wow is that not honor for Eve? All people in the world no matter where you’re from. We all came from Mother Eve. All life starts with Eve. Actually, all life starts with mothers. They are an influence on their children and are teachers at times. They show us love, compassion, and preparation.
Sarah=Rulers and Warriors
Genesis 17:16 And I will bless her and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
Sarah was called the mother of nations because Abraham would be the father of nations. The key thing here is to see that mothers can form nations, and those nations have power and lead the direction of world. You can’t have a nation without a leader, and you can’t lead a nation without an Army.
Hannah=Prayer, Love & Sacrifice
1Samuel 1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
Sometimes, we must pour out our heart to God, let our needs be know to God. Give him all the details he is listening to you and desires to hear from you.
1Samuel 1:27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
Hannah asked the Lord for her child and he answered her prayer with a resounding Yes!
And she was blessed with the Joy of Samuel. She was Obedient to the Lord and he answered. We need to follow in obedience to have him answer our prayers. Also we must pray in the right manner. Are you praying in the right manner? Hannah poured out her heart. God knew what she desired before she even prayed. He was waiting for her to make things right. Is God waiting for you? You know on Wednesday night we end with the Lord’s prayer because the Word of God tells us to pray after this manner Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be thy Name,….
1Samuel 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.
Hannah was barren but, the Lord chose to bless her, and she became obedient to the Lord for the answer to her prayer and trusted him with Samuel’s life. Amen! Sometimes we must do that. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Knowing he will make it right or a least lead us in the right direction.
Jochebed=Trusted the Lord
Exodus 2:8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.
Jochebed= “Jehovah is glory” Trusted the Lord to keep her son Moses safe as she put him in the ark made from bullrushes and laid hm in the Nile River. Then Pharoh’s daughter retrieved him and taught him the ways of the Egyptians. She also needed a Hebrew woman to feed him and she got his mother Jochebed.
Mary= “beloved” was Obedient to God
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Mary the mother of Jesus the son of God, overcame humiliation and shame and reticule as she cared for and brought Jesus up in the teachings of God along with Joseph. Now that was some adversity wasn’t it. She followed the instructions given of God. Mary was the mother of Jesus who is the savior of the world! Eve was the mother of life but, Mary the mother of Jesus, who offers us everlasting life! She later said, in Luke 1:46-47And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Above all else.
Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Mothers and fathers are given by God to each one of us and we must love them as gifts from God. Whether they were good or bad we must love them because God said so. If we choose to be disobedient to God, it could be harmful to our lives. In-spite of their behavior, we should always love them and cherish them for they are not always to be with us. So, we should redeem the time we have and concentrate on the good things they have done for us.
Call today and encourage them to let them know you’re thankful for them.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
