Isaiah had a vison, and he tells us of this vision Isaiah 6:1-8, and he describes this way. Vison- Vison of Yahweh-the living God upon his throne.
This was the time of the temple, the Holy of Holies with the veil.
This veil was lifted for a brief moment for Isaiah to see…
(Isaiah looking through the temple the veil opened for a brief moments and he saw vision of God on the throne. in all his glory High and Lifted up. Exalted.) Shouldn’t we Exalt the Lord here in His House.
Isaiah 6:1 I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Isaiah describes what he saw.
Lord sitting upon a throne. – The abode of God. Heaven of Heavens
Isaiah showing us God’s sovereignty.
His Glory, fills His earth and it will fill His temple and His throne. Amen!
Isaiah 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face.
Seraphims = Class of angel, near to God. – Around the throne of God.
Seraphims = Super natural being appearing to Isaiah.
Seraphims = Hebrew – saw-rawf” Seraph root word means to burn / firey used in connection with sin offerings.
Seraphims – Firey serpent.-The Lord in Numbers 21:6-7 sent fiery serpents to sting the people of Israel that would not look upon the Brazen serpent that Moses lifted up on a pole high. A clear representation to Jesus Christ’s crucifixion on the cross. Those who believe are saved obtain Everlasting life. Those who don’t die in their sins and gain eternal death.
God moves in Judgement of sin, Seraphim here searched out and purge sin from Isaiah.
Six wings – Depicting his rank.
Twain= two he covered his face. – protecting them from the brightness of God.
Isaiah 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
These first three verses give us a glimpse of heaven …. Hallelujah!
Holy, Holy, Holy! Father, Son and Holy Ghost = Trinity
His glory = Shekinah Glory of the Lord
Isaiah 6:4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Smoke = Presence of God!- Shekinah Glory of God. Remember the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost coming in with the rushing or the mighty wind.
Heaven sounds awesome Angels, the Lord upon his throne… wow very intriguing doesn’t it….
Isaiah 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
We all live in a sin filled world full of sinners, and we all need a Savior to help us to get rid of our sinful nature that we are born unto at birth. Amen! We cannot do it alone or by ourselves. Woe is us! Once we see the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and get to know who he is we realize we are unworthy too just as Isaiah.
We all have failed God at some point in our lives!
We all need to repent and confess.
Isaiah was commissioned or ordained for a purpose to do God’s will to work and prophesy to the lost world of sinners. Isaiah a major prophet in the Bible.
Isaiah 6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: live coal = hot stone / pavement.
off the altar= Burnt offerings
Live coals are extremely hot and can burn at high temperatures. They can heat up iron quickly, I can only imagine this would clearly purge any sin that it met just by being close to one of us. We are all sinners saved by the grace of God and have a need to be purged and cleansed our sin before our service to God.
The temple would have incense burning.
Isaiah 6:7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
We all need our sins purged from us and the only way we can have this done is to repent and confess at the altar of the Lord. Amen!
Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Once our sins are purged from us, we are then ready to do the Lord will in our lives. We like Isaiah, can be used of God to do his blessed will. We Just need to be cleansed. We must be purged and cleansed our sin before our service to God.
If the Lord called you today, to do a difficult task would you?
If the Lord called you today, what would your answer be?
Would it be, wait Lord I am not ready to do this yet!
Are you sure you want me Lord?
Would you respond right away?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Here am I Lord, send me!
God would that we all respond in this like manner,
Here am I Lord, send me!
Isaiah a major prophet in the Bible. Prophesied the Birth of the Messiah The birth of Jesus Christ the reason for the season.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Birth of Jesus Christ the savior of the world.
Amen!
