When I receive good words and encouragement from my brothers and sisters, I feel strong and really happy, and I realize the preciousness of the advice and that it was something I really needed. Practice and obedience make our spirits happy, and when all the saints gather together positively and listen to the word, that time is always good and joyful. Always be thankful for the Holy Spirit who encourages and gives me courage. We need to be thankful that our Christian brothers and sisters are encouraging us.
Don’t you like being encouraged? When we are lifted by a brother or a sister it feels so good, and we know that it was just what we needed. That sweet fellowship time is always remembered. When we are lifted by a brother or a sister it just seems more meaningful to us.
However, as we live, we are tempted and sometimes tempted by bad thoughts and foolish thoughts. Only Satan can tempt, God cannot He is our Creator and there is no evil in Him. We should not keep those bad thoughts and foolish thoughts for long time instead quickly throw them away is because it is for our sake. It will lead to heavy, depression, anxiety and sin. Unbeneficial thoughts are a shortcut to confusion of our minds and falling into sin, so quickly throw them away and win with The Lord’s Prayer, that the Lord taught us.
Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Draw closer to God. turn to Him.
Pure water = Holy Spirit
A true heart without hypocrisy: in truth, and with a perfect heart; thoroughly filled with “the truth”. With having no doubt as to our acceptance when coming to God by the blood of Christ. Being cleansed from an evil conscience. The blood sacrifice of animal could only cleanse the flesh, (the outward man) but Christ’s blood purifies our hearts and consciences as well as our body (the outward and inward man). Cleanse your mind, body, and soul. Wash ourselves with the word of God. All this brings you closer to God and increases our faith. Increase your faith.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Profession = your confession of faith. Giving your response to the reason for your faith. Which leads to “our hope”; which causes us to exercise faith in the future inheritance promised by God. We need to be “steadfast unto the end.” Until the return of Jesus Christ. Be unmovable always abounding in the Lord.
God is faithful to His promises, because He cannot lie. Our problem is man is too often unfaithful to his duties. We need to be more faithful in our belief. This will come through knowing God more. All that he has promised He will perform. Don’t be unfaithful. God’s promise can be physically seen in the rainbow, a sign he will be there for when your doing his will.
How do we know God? Through reading / hearing His Word. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Believe it, read it, and heed it.
The fact that He is faithful is an encouragement to us. We are dependent on him for grace to hold fast our profession.
Confession leads to our salvation.
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Provoke = persuade them to do the right thing, or encourage them too.
As we consider one another’s condition with our mind attentively fixed on “one another” this show us that we need to consider the condition of those around us. If we understand our condition before we were saved, we can sympathize with those whom have not made a decision yet. They are filled with the devils excuses. They just need to allow God into their lives. Look around you can you help a friend? What is your condition? What is your friends condition?
So, this is where we can encourage them to follow the Lord’s command’s and change their wicked way to the straightway Jesus wants them to go. We do this with love and compassion for them and encourage them to do God’s good work. Remember the so called friends of Job, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophor! Did they help him, or make it worse?
Here is how we can do this…
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
By attending to church fellowship, by lifting one another up, helping one another through trials. More and more, as you see the day of the Lord approaching. Union is strength; continual assembling together beget and foster love, and gives good opportunities for “provoking to good works,” by “exhorting one another”. We must continue to attend Church services for our own When ye frequently, and in numbers meet together, the powers of Satan are overthrown, and his mischief is neutralized by your like mindedness in the faith.
We are closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ than we were yesterday, closer yet tomorrow we are today.
The Church being in all ages kept uncertain how soon Christ is coming, the day is, and has been, in each age, practically always near; whence, believers have been called on always to be watching for it as nigh at hand. Heed the warnings.
Those who choose to reject Jesus’ sacrifice continue to bear their own sin. The to indicates that those cut off from fellowship with Israel because of deliberate, repeated sins must bear their sin. The warning here was, that if there be not diligence in progressing, a falling off, and then an apostasy, will ensue: here it is, if there be lukewarmness in Christian communion, apostasy ensues. The Lord would turn to them and say depart from Me I never knew you.
Don’t be lukewarm! Don’t reject Jesus, it will harm you. for God will cut you off.
God loves the obedient ones!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen!
