Have you heard about Jesus? If you have heard about Jesus, then you have learned about His gospel ministry through the Bible. We learned from the Scriptures about Jesus’ love, dedication, and obedience as He briefly taught the truth of the gospel on this earth. Jesus set an example for us in many aspects of daily life, clearly teaching and demonstrating miracles and the reason for His coming. Obedience and emotional control are what we all must learn. If I were to point out one thing, it is anger. When anger surges, instead of controlling it and finding peace, we unknowingly—and even knowingly—let our thoughts fall into Satan’s division and sink into wickedness. Here, we need the Holy Spirit’s teaching and help to understand how to control anger and emotions, as taught by Jesus.
Our emotions show on our face and others can read them and generally tell how we are feeling. Some people enjoy seizing on others’ weaknesses, provoking them, digging up more flaws, and wanting conflict to persist and anger to be stirred up. This stems from an evil spirit and is not good for any of us. When anger makes us lose control of our emotions, it’s like a boiling kettle whistling on a hot burner… Can you relate?
Christians saved by Jesus Christ and living a new life must change their attitudes and actions.
Put off the old self and put on the new self… You will be amazed at what the Lord will do… if you regulate your emotions with humility and obedience.
It will surprise you what the Lord can do…If you’re humble and willingly and control your feelings.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
The precious blood of Jesus on the cross will transform our conversations. Not negative and outdated ones, but conversations that build each other up and encourage one another. For the God of the Holy Spirit will gently transform your steps and words. Amen!
Don’t forget to cast off the old things that corrupt you, and become one who desire to be mutually beneficial to one another in Christ, together with your brothers and sisters in Jesus, and who care for one another.
Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
May you experience a new, transformed life through a change in mindset and perspective, and enjoy joy and peace. We should no longer dwell on the old things that lead us to destruction and death, but instead give thanks together with Jesus Christ, the Son of God who gave us eternal life, upon the eternal Rock.
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
This is putting off the old self and putting on the new self. The old nature was a life filled with sin, leading to destruction and death. Now we are covered by the righteous blood of Jesus shed for us on the cross, enabling us to move forward. Therefore, we no longer sin but are accepted in God’s true holiness.
Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
We must realize that we must abandon the unhealthy habits we learned in our former life as sinners. Upon gaining the realization that we are like a boiling kettle, the Apostle Paul exhorts us here to abandon lying to our neighbors. Remember that Satan is the father of all lies and slander. We must be truthful with one another. Others may try to take advantage of those who are truthful. This is also not desirable behavior. Furthermore, even if you are angry with someone, endure it and strive to understand them even more.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen.
