This world is where God has placed each one of us, and this church Riverview Baptist is where the Lord has led each one of us to worship, so the question is; Can Our Church Make a Difference? Can We make a difference? Can You make difference?  Yes, we can! Many possibilities we hold within our hands. We must be willing. We need to be the light and salt of this world. Have you eaten food with out salt?

The truth is: There are a lot of problems in the world. Poverty, divisive politics, racism, terrorism, mental health struggles, access to health care, natural disasters, malnutrition, violence, and more… These problems can sometimes feel insurmountable and overwhelming. But I want you to know there is another problem that has felt insurmountable and overwhelming! SIN!

All the above can be sin to the Christian if we do nothing to help out. The way to overcome this is to come to the Lord Jesus Christ, repent and confess, allow Him to enter in your life and fill us full of love for your neighbor so we can overcome the world’s problems.  Amen!  We can only do this together with Jesus Christ our Lord.  As a Christian have you experienced a better life?  A life better than when you were a sinner. Amen!  We are all sinners saved by grace and we need to never forget it. And no one here is better than another.  Amen!  The book of Micah shows us a prophet that desired his Countrymen to repent and confess and live according to God’s standards. Don’t you desire this for your friends and family to confess and repent and join you in eternity?

The book of Micah speaks of Judgement in first three chapters.  

Micah is the sixth prophet of twelve minor prophets who railed against Israel and Judah about their Sin of Idolatry and contempt for the word of God.

Micah name means = “Who is like God? or Who is like Yahweh? Who is like Jehovah?”  As Christians we know there is none like our God!

Theme = God’s Promise goes to those who repent and confess and live according to God’s standards. It also shows us, the question Who is like our God? just like Micah’s name.

Micah tells his people to harken unto the Lord God and let Him witness to you from His temple.

How many here are willing allow the Lord your God to witness to you from your church?  You need to love your Church, you need to love your brothers and sisters and be dedicated to it, and the work that needs to be done in it.  Amen!   Are you willing? Are you ready to make a difference? Are you willing to help out?

In order for your Church and you to make a difference you need to participate and give of your time talents and pocketbook to the Lord for him to witness to you in his house.  I know I can never out give the Lord with anything I do for him.  God’s word says prove me!  Try it see, if it not so.

Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

Micah 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Riverview we are marching to Zion together, not alone!

Riverview, don’t you want to be “that the mountain of the house of the LORD?”  Yes! We do.  Amen! To be the House of the Lord we must allow His Word to be taught in fullness without watering it down. Give it to them straight.  We must preach with boldness the truth of God’s Word. In the power and authority that God has intended it.

1Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Riverview, let the LORD establish us, and let, Riverview be exalted above the mountain and hills; In order to be a strong church we have to have a strong foundation. A foundation built on the word of God. We do this by our submission to our Lord and Savior’s will for our Church. Obedience is better than sacrifice.  Jesus was given the doctrine from God the father, and He passed it on to us. We need to use it for our sake, so that we can be saved, and save others. Demonstrating our Faith and Maturity. We should continue to do this. Amen!

Why, because we are fishers of men, the ocean is full of fish, and they are free to catch if you desire to do it. We need to cast our net out into the deep, so we may catch fish for God.

Riverview, we need to let the people flow into our Church.

I am reminded of the song Bring them in…

Who’ll go and help this Shepherd kind, Help Him the little lambs to find?

Who’ll bring the lost ones to the fold, where they’ll be sheltered from the cold?

Bring them in, bring them in, Bring them in from the fields of sin.

Bring them in, bring them in, Bring the wandering ones to Jesus.

That is, you and I, we must help the Shepherd (Jesus) (Pastor’s are the under shepherd) find the lambs and bring the lost out of the coldness of sin and destruction. Micah was trying to do this with his pronouncing judgement through his prophecy to his countrymen.

Riverview, we can let many nations come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD! We are currently doing this with the sharing of our Church with others. Is this a blessing for our Church and the house of God?  let us serve all that enter in nomatter the nationality. Let us go to the mountain top where God wants us to be.

The mountain top is where we can meet with the Lord God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, our God our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ.

And say, Come, and let us go to the house of the God!

The House of God is where He may be found!

The House of God is where We may be found!

The House of God is where the lost become saved!

And say, He will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths

The House of God is where He will teach us His ways.

The House of God is where we will walk in His paths.

The House of God is where He will show us the way to go.

We serve a sovereign God who has our best interest in His heart!

And say, the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Riverview Baptist Church. Amen!

The House of God is where you learn the laws in the Word of God.

How many of you fear the Law of man when you break it?

When we know God, we will learn to fear Him, and become sensitive to the Holy Spirit of the Lord when we break His laws.

This brings confession and repentance into our lives.

The House of God is where learn who God is.

The House of God is where Word of God will go forth without corruption.

Can Our Church Make a Difference?  Yes! We can make a difference one person at a time….one event at a time…… one moment at a time… according to Word and the will of God! Yes! You can make a difference the same way, one person at a time….one event at a time…… one moment at a time… according to Word and the will of God! Amen!
