A Psalm of David.
A Psalm is a book of praises and worship.
A Psalm of joyous praise, in which David the writer rises from a thankful acknowledgment of personal blessings to a lively celebration of God’s gracious attributes, in an essential and worthy of praise, but as especially suited to man’s frailty. God’s grace, is essential and will praise the salvation of Jesus, especially for human weakness and is necessary. David concludes by invoking all creatures to unite in song to praise God. This Psalm like others can be sung for learning lessons. It starts out like a solo and ends with the symphony.
Psalm 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord-We should have a song in our heart praise in our mouth for He has given us THE BREATH OF LIFE. There is a praise song we sing where the chorus says;
*Bless the Lord oh my soul, Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name, Sing like never before
Oh, my soul, I’ll worship Your Holy name
So, bless the Lord oh my soul, Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name, Sing like never before
Oh, my soul, I’ll worship Your Holy name
O my soul – The essence of who we are. God as Given to us the breathe of life. And we can get protection for this soul only from our Lord Jesus Christ.
And all that is within me- With all the core and all our strength of our being we need to give glory honor and praise to Our God and Lord for He has given His all for us. Jesus Christ His only son was given for our salvation.
His holy name- God is complete moral perfection, His Hollow, and it is only found in Him. nowhere else can it be found.
When we make God the object, of our praise and worship we become blessed by Him. This will or should cause us to be thankful as we acknowledge God’s gracious merciful attributes expressed to us. God loves us all and wants all to come to him to be saved.
Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:
Bless the Lord- We bless the Lord through our obedience, praise and worship of Him. In turn He will bless us with salvation. ( Benefits )
My soul – Will clearly be affected when we allow all of God’s blessing into our lives. These blessing become our benefits in life. We see that they are personal to each person that excepts His control.
Forget not all His benefits– When we bless the Lord through our obedience, praise and worship of Him. Then we accept his salvation offer. We are given certain benefits freely. (Love, Mercy, Grace and Peace)
Look at these massive benefits, please don’t forget them!
Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;
God forgiveth all thine iniquities – He forgives all our Sin. Not just some but all, and it is forgotten forever. Forgiveness is a wonderful benefit. We all need it. No one has never not need Forgiveness! This grace is God’s great gift of forgiveness. Forgiveness, for those who are undeserving, all sinners in this world. This benefit is everlasting our sin are forgotten forever. And He has promised us the privilege of entering God’s house forever. Have you repented today? Do you know how great a grace it is to be able to repent every day? Are you not living a life of joy, oppressed by sin? And, through Jesus who forgave our sins, have you forgiven others who hate and cannot forgive? Do not postpone what you must do first, but rely on Jesus with wisdom and obedience.
A humble heart can see and receive God’s grace, while a proud heart cannot see grace and misses it because it is covered by hatred and evil, so it cannot see or have it. We must become those who can receive and see grace. I hope that you will shake off the foolish and weary life of being bound by the chains of sin with your own thoughts and judgments and win through prayer and patience.
God health all thy diseases – Our God is the great physician and creator and is the only one that we can call on to get the healing that we need. God knows his creation and can correct anything that goes wrong with this body. God knows each person and their need, way before you know it. God will provide everything that you need. God, provides when necessary, and he provides a way out when we cannot handle it. Do you know that God is the source of life who provides everything we need? I pray that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and that he is fair and cherishes the precious day of grace. God places people, things, and goods that are needed for you when we need them. God is in control of any situation, and he resolves it in his own time and according to our circumstances, and we must know that the reason he does not resolve it is for our own benefit.
God Loves us so to handle our situations. God gives us Mercy to handle our situations. God gives us Grace to handle our situations. God gives us Peace to handle our situations.
Psalm 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Our God redeemed thy life from destruction –Our God is the only one who can redeem our life and soul from permanent destruction. He saves us from the fiery pit of hell. No matter the depths of our sin He will save us. And allows us into heaven His abode. His Holy Home, into His house, we become family praise and worship together forever, and there is no pain, sorrow, suffering, hatred, or poverty. We are all welcomed… God welcomes and welcomes all who believe in Jesus and repent. Praise the Lord!
Redemption comes at a cost, and it is implied here. Therefore, our God gave His only Son to die for the sins of the entire world, past, present, and future sins. This is implied here in Old Testament and fulfilled in New Testament.
Our God crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies –Our God will crown us, with His Glory and Honor and brings us into His family and this gives us the full rights of the King we are as royalty and become intitled to a crown, His love, His kindness, and His tender mercies.
Our God is slow to anger, because He knows who He is dealing with, a stubborn and rebellious people. If God was not slow to anger, He would have already delt with us.
Psalm 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Satisfieth thy mouth with good things- Our God will satisfy our taste for good things, not the bitter ones. We will end up desiring the things of God instead of the things of worlds.
So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s- When we were a youth, we had energy, vigor, and vitality that we could do anything we set our minds to do. We were strong as an ox, speed of a cheetah, and the eyes of an eagle.
Think about it, the eagles can see great distances, they can tackle prey that is five times their size, and sore to the highest heights, all great things that make them feared amongst their prey. As we follow God and His word, we can become a feared by Satan and his minion’s. Amen!
Psalm 103:6 The Lord executeth righteousness, And judgment for all that are oppressed.
The Lord executeth righteousness-Everything that God does is perfect in everyway there is no unrighteousness in Him, so when He executes judgement, it is perfect, right, and forever. Amen!
His judgment for all that are oppressed – When God’s people are oppressed, by the world, or leaders, or rulers God comes to their defense and will always give them the victory over the oppression. Amen!
Remember all these benefits can only be given to you, with the Change of your heart!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen. Selah!
