God loved this world so much that He gave us a great gift, great joy, and a great miracle—His love for humanity, manifested in His only begotten Son, Jesus. Because of humanity’s sin, we experience death, and consequently, sickness, suffering, unending sorrow, and a world where sin begets more sin, a world where Satan’s power reigns supreme, leaving humanity weary and exhausted. To save humanity from the bondage of sin, God sent Jesus, and through Him, He gave believers a great miracle, great joy, and a great gift.
Behold, I make all things new. This is God’s love, and His great grace given to the unworthy. This joy and miracle for humanity—the very act of our breathing is a great miracle. The reason we breathe is to serve God. Do you know God’s plan to renew us so we may enter a life of blessing?
God has prepared for us a new heaven and a new earth. The Bible tells us through John that the first earth will pass away, and the sea will no longer be.
However, setting aside the miracle received through Jesus now, as we make New Year’s resolutions and plans for the coming year, it is said that the New Year itself is not wrong, but a new day given to those blessed by God. We must become those who serve God without ceasing, dedicate ourselves, obey, and preach the gospel—those who store up treasures in heaven. “God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Humans have hearts that change with every passing moment, quickly forgetting what is first and what is important, setting their minds only on profit. They learn something a few days ago and already forget it. For the sake of this weary world, this complex world, they set aside God’s great gift and compromise with the world’s desires and its plans and resolutions. They ignore the Holy Spirit who teaches the weariness of life.
A few short years ago we began our ministry here at Riverview, and it looked extremely bleak… However, we trusted that our God would perform those things that where needed to be accomplished here. Riverview have we not see what God can do? Where God has blessed us? And How God has provided everything all things together for good.. Wow! Our God is truly an awesome God! God has totally made all things New.
Because Jesus born for all, God’s said, make all things new.
John writes in Revelation and gives us a glimpse of the new heaven and new earth God will make for his people and where they shall spend eternity. Please understand this is the new heaven and new earth, where God’s people will spend eternity and after God folds up this current heaven and earth, after its destruction.
As we come to the beginning of a New Year we need to focus on our God and what he wants each one of us to accomplish in 2026. A New Year, a change from the old to the new. We need to be committed to it.
The former things are gone but never forgotten and we must embrace the new. What has passed cannot be brought back. Knowing human limitations, we must rely on God the Creator, embrace the new day and better life He gives us with peace in our hearts, and become obedient.
John knows that our human language is incapable of expressing, just as human imagination is incapable of perceiving, the reality of things in the eternal world as they truly are. It’s extremely hard for our minds to grasp the reality of Heaven’s concept its levels, its beauty, its love, its joy, its peace, its worship, and its glory.
The significance of John’s visions and its importance in theology is signaled by its final position, the idea of a heavenly Jerusalem that will become the ultimate home of the People of God. We can only stand in awe, and say: Wow! What an awesome God we serve!
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
All the old is gone and all things are now new. For through Jesus’ birth, we have been made new. We have been granted a miracle. It is a transformation utterly different from what we consider normal in our thoughts and all things. I cannot imagine a place with no sea. I grew up around the sea. I know its goodness and it badness. But if God knows we don’t need it he is right. I must trust His way. Do you? Because the sea and mountains divide humanity. Soon, the great God will restore all that has been separated by humanity’s sin!
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
The holy city, new Jerusalem, a place where we will worship our God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
In the presents of God! Amen! In His tabernacle listening to His word. We will experience close to what the disciples experienced. We give thanks to God, who through Jesus Christ alone has granted us the privilege of dwelling with Him, and we pray that you may become servants who give your whole body and spirit. May we not be lazy, arrogant, or driven by jealousy and envy, offering only leftovers and spare moments.
This new year, I pray we become saints who draw nearer to God—more precious than worldly plans and resolutions, profit and fruit—and who recognize and encounter His precious love.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Every tear is wiped away, This meaning is a gift received from the almighty God, For those suffering sorrow from parting, pain from sickness, and the sorrow of death. For those who suffer the agony of pain, the eyes of those who believe in Jesus who came for them are not eyes of sorrowful tears, but eyes filled with joy and hope—beautiful, unseen, untouched, and unmatched in this world. Our God has prepared for us the joy of the new heaven! There are no tears. There is no sorrow, meaning there is no pain, no wailing heart, no suffering itself. Therefore, we believe the Word completely. Through Jesus’ birth, even death is absent in the eternal new heaven! All things past have passed away, and we will remember them no more.
Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
God sitting on the throne said “Behold, I make all things new.” He also instructed John to “Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
John followed in obedience so we could have a record of this incident and could believe! Do you believe?
Therefore, let us believe in Jesus, dedicate ourselves by faith, diligently prioritize worship using all that has been given, learn the Word, and through tithing in faith within the Spirit and truth, accumulate heavenly righteousness. Receive the blessings given and resolve to live a faithful faith that bears fruit in the new year.
Those who have believed simplistically and lived their faith conveniently, repent right now and seek God’s precious grace.
God’s work is reaped and received according to what each has sown. And every soul will stand before God’s judgment seat. Here, each will receive according to the measure of their faith. Do not be one who barely enters salvation through a half-hearted faith, but strive to be one who can be called faithful and true.
We at Riverview Church must become those precious ones who enter Heaven with benefits. Do not become someone who enters through skin of our teeth, and end up working the dung gate. Do not misunderstand me, it’s okay the dung gate is better than hell. Do not become foolish and ignorant, thinking I have time to wait until the very point of death to confess and repent. The 11th hour may never come for you. May you become as long as faithful, truly saved in Jesus’ name, honest through gratitude and obedience, and hopeful for the eternal home, heaven.
Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
God said “It is done,” and “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.” He started it and he will finish it all according to His will and His good pleasure. Our God, who is great and worthy of all glory! Salvation is the privilege of giving glory upon glory to Jesus Himself.
And He will freely give it to those who thirst and long for the water of life.
Do you thirst for the water of life? Jesus calls sinners, saying, “Come.” He shed His precious blood freely for those who seek Him, overcoming death’s power on the cross. God is with us from the beginning of life he provides us with the breathe of life and substance to sustain it, and we can do nothing without Him.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Inheritance is spoken of here, and it says that it will go to those who overcometh,
Here, the inheritance spoken of is salvation through Jesus. It refers to what will be given to those who repent, are saved by faith, and faithfully serve God. With this inheritance of salvation. We can rejoice because we are accepted into heaven. We can never really know the fullness of our God, until it is revealed to us in the new heaven and new earth. Then we can truly know his fullness. Until then we can only imagine what it may be. But for now we need to be obedient to that which God Has already given us here. Obey, and by faith, triumph in this new year where obedience is better than sacrifice.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen.
