Last week, we learned that by protecting our beautiful feet and keeping them healthy, we can fulfill the mission entrusted to us by the Lord. The path of a Christian is not an easy one; it is a complex and difficult journey, it lies through rough places, through briers and thorns, and thistles. Therefore, we must arm ourselves with the helmet of faith and the Full Armor of God. We must also bind our feet firmly, for they play an important role in spreading the gospel. We must keep our faith and rely on Christ, especially in the most difficult times, and be bold for our Lord no matter what circumstances we face, and be prepared to confess our faith. We need these piece’s of armor, that God has provided for us. If our feet are protected, we have a better chance of completing our tour of duty for the Lord. Like David, the Christian must be ready to fight, God’s way, no matter how impossible or ridiculous it seems. David had five smooth stones and a sling to fight a giant.
Our feet are extremely important part of our body they’re associated with moving and with foundation, direction and chosen path. Foundation the is the word of God we need to stand firm on that word of truth. We need to follow it. Our direction in life is determined by God. If we choose to follow God’s will, we will be blessed. However if we allow our feet to go in the wrong direction based on our own foolish thoughts and judgments rather than obedience, we will end up with loss of time, destruction, and ultimately death.
Paul told Timothy he needed to give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine until I come to join you. This means that Christian soldiers must be alert to the Word. It also tells us that we must always read and meditate on the Bible and strive to learn it. Whenever Satan attacks us, we must be prepared and ready to fight with the gospel we have prayed. As soldiers of faith, we never know when or where we will be called to battle, so we must always be prepared and vigilant. This will keep Christian soldiers in the fight. He/she, will be prepared for the battle. This is what the Church of Christ should be about. When the time comes, no matter how overwhelming the enemy’s forces may be, victory belongs to the Lord’s soldiers, His children. Amen.
Jesus is the commander of the church. Believers must stay awake and be vigilant, striving to study the Word, pray, and gather together.
1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
This is a clear sign that reinforcements will soon arrive. Paul says Hang on I am on my way to help you. Jesus will return to help us too. Help is on the way. We must be bold in faith, without help, fulfill our duties well, and fight a little longer with strength and patience, even without them.
It is also a clear sign that if we give attendance to reading of God’s word we will gain the knowledge that we are lacking. We need to exhort our Lord and savior, that has sacrificed his all for us. The Holy Spirit has lead us to the clear knowledge of God’s doctrine which makes clear our foundation. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can stand firmly on our feet, and move in the right direction. Therefore, our church holds Bible study on Thursdays, evening worship and prayer meetings on Wednesdays, Sunday school on Sunday morning worship services. God has given us six days to work and seventh day to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
We must attend worship and praise services wholeheartedly. All who have participated in Jesus’ salvation must attend worship services and give glory to God with their hearts and praise Him. If we go in the opposite direction or refuse and disobey, when God asks, “What have you done for my son Jesus?”, those who cannot answer will be told, “I do not know you,” and will not be allowed to enter heaven. Arise and shine and give God the Glory!
This world is not our home, and whatever we achieved in this world cannot be taken with us when we die; it will be left behind for others. Family, husbands, wives, children, money, houses, and land, awards and achievements will all be given to someone else upon our death. We can take nothing with us. Not even this body of ours it goes back to the dust from where we came. Therefore, while we live on this earth, let us use it for Jesus, helping those in need, for money has value only while we live in this world. The only things we can take with us are faith and the hope of salvation, which we will carry boldly. Amen.
Christian must have firmness in strategy: Satan is evil and his minions are the same as it always, and they cause confusion, division, suffering, and murder in everything they do. The battle is fundamentally the same throughout all ages because it is a battle against the devil and his demon forces that have already been defeated. So, our tactics must be adaptable to the times in which we are fighting them.
Do you remember the story of the young boy we talked about last week? Here is the story… The young boy was afraid to go to sleep in his bed. He thought Satan was under his bed. He was afraid to go to sleep, so he told his father. His father told him that Satan had already been defeated and showed him where it was written in the Bible. The boy read the Bible and gained confidence knowing that Satan had already been defeated. That night, when he heard a sound under the bed while lying in bed, he told Satan, “Get behind me!” He also said that Satan was a defeated enemy. When Satan continued to stir up trouble, the boy took the Bible in his hand, placed it under the bed, and told Satan, “Read it yourself (Satan).” After that, he was able to sleep peacefully. This story is a simple parable, but it is something we truly need to learn. Father of faith, I truly thank you.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
We all need salvation, and we must each make our own decisions. We cannot save ourselves; only our Lord Jesus Christ, who is also God, can save us. But first, we must understand who Jesus is and why He is important. When the humble seek help and seek to know Jesus, they encounter Him and enter into the process of salvation.
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
There are many missionaries in this world who carry the gospel to various places, sometimes standing on the front lines, enduring danger and hardship as they work. We must always pray for the health and material needs of missionaries and their families, and prepare ourselves for battle. They are spreading the message of the gospel in places where you cannot go. We praise the missionaries who are devoted to the Lord, because we are the ones who participate in their ministry.
Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
The church is called to be centered on Jesus Christ. In order for someone to preach, they must be called, and then God can send them to the place where He has placed them. This is an important matter. Being called, responding to that call, and the placement of the preacher. If God were not involved in the calling or placement, the preacher’s ministry would be very short-lived. Here we see how beautiful the feet are of those who preach the gospel message. Have you thought about that?
Remember Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. What a wonderful example! We can learn from this a few things. Like take care of those who preach the word of God to you. A Preacher must take care of himself too. We learn that without healthy feet it would be very hard for you to travel to speak to anyone. It would also be very difficult to preach if you are sick too. Not impossible but, would be difficult. Christians should not be slow or sluggish. They must have mobility and adaptability. They must always meditate on God’s Word, pray, teach the saints with a faithful heart.
Mark 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Paul urges Christians to stand firm against the devil’s schemes. Those that come to listen if they receive you great, if they do not then just shake the dust off of your feet and move on. That will be a testimony against them. Be guided by the Holy Spirit, pray for them, and know that your gospel testimony is not in vain and He will give us reward from the spread gospel, and God keeps the record. The only way to stand against the devil is by putting on the full armor of God. Also, vengeance belongs to the Almighty God, not you. (Do not treat God’s people carelessly.)
Christians must have a firm footing and always be ready and prepared for spiritual battle. The enemy is always active, and his attacks are unexpected. We need to realize that we are waring not only with flesh and blood but spiritual enemies. One piece of the armor of God is having your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Therefore, we must be alert, sober-minded, and armed with prayer.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Apostle Paul says that people cannot understand God’s work with human ability, nor have they ever been able to, and that believers must rely on the Holy Spirit given by God’s grace to give them the understanding. God loves those who love Him, and Paul emphasizes that God grants insight regarding His work to those who follow Him and do His will.
God’s grace is sufficient for you! Be thankful every day.
Obedience is more precious than sacrifice and makes our lives healthier.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Amen!
