We as Christians must realize that, from the moment they are saved until they leave this earth, we have a set course to fulfill the mission God has entrusted to us. This simply means that those who have been saved must not live as they please or according to their own thoughts. Those who are born again, declared righteous, and forgiven of their sins do not compromise with the world; the path our lives take through worship and devotion to God, the source of our salvation is a precious path purchased by the blood of Jesus. When we accept salvation and then say thats it. Then say, I have saved myself, that is still selfishness. For us to act as if you are better than others simply because you have been saved is to be arrogant and full of pride and it causes us to cast precious pearls before swineto be trampled upon. If Some of us are content with this alone and living as we pleaseand it is truly a foolish, ignorant, and selfish attitude on display. Such people cause disorder and confusion within the church, which spreads to other believers and leads the church to become spiritual dead.
Since the church, was purchased by the blood of Jesus, it is a Holy House of God and a place where God’s Word is proclaimed, we must be careful in our words and actions, for God sees, hears, and keeps the records of everything. Amen!
Our salvation is incomparable; to things of this world and we must cast aside any thought that we received it lightly or take it for granted. God desires that we learn, teach, and share the words of Jesus with others.
Since each of us has been led by the Holy Spirit through salvation, we must always be alert, armed with the Word and our mission, and take the lead in spreading the Gospel. Today we have to many Spiritually Dead churches that need a revival and an awakening.
The precious mission God has given us is to give out the to the Gospel message to others and is the great grace that saved a sinner like me; it is God’s grace bestowed upon one who is unworthy, one who was headed for hell because of sin. We must truly realize this, and understand what we must proclaim to the people of this world, and be strengthened daily by the Word so that we do not compromise with sin. Amen!
This is such a wonderful thing that our Lord and God gave us the Holy Spirit to assist and aid us along our walk and journey in life. this same Holy Spirit leads us and guides us through God’s word, if we allow Him.
The book of John tells us and explains the story of Jesus and Nicodemus a Pharisees seeking a change. We all could use a change in our lives…
John 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
The Torah Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy (the first five books of the Bible) Old Testament Law (God)
Pharisees- meaning “separated ones.” They were mostly scholars, scribes, and ordinary laypeople (not priests) who had a large following among common citizens. “Status.” They believed in the resurrection of the dead, angels, divine providence, and an afterlife. They valued both the written Torah (first five books of bible) and the Oral Law (traditions they believed God gave to Moses) ten commandments. Today, the United States truly needs another “Great Awakening”—a revival where the entire nation wakes up and repents! All of humanity must repent!!!
Spiritual Awakening -It is a shift from spiritual death to spiritual life. and Work of God and given New Identity.
Spiritual Rebirth– It is a fresh start given by God’s Spirit, not a physical birth.
John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Came to Jesus by night So he would not be seen by others, and it would not affect his status amongst Pharisees and citizens. His reputation would have been affected.
We know- Pharisees and citizens followers. What did they know? Jesus came from God, based on His teachings and miracles He preformed.
Sometimes in life, you and I must be revived, we will need to be revived again to live for God again. Sometimes when life gives us a battle or a struggle, or we go through a rough time we stop our service to God.
This is the wrong apapproach. We need to reflect on the issue. Or say what would Jesus do? Look at the trouble that the disciples had. Compare your troubles to theirs. We will see we need a change or a revival to bring about change. A change of our thoughts and attitude. Once this occurs, we can experience true liberty and freedom within the church body, our home and in our life.
In Christian theology, we know that no person can be saved without being born again. What we will call Spiritual Awakening! Or a Spiritual Rebirth. Puritans and Quakers left England and came to America for religious freedom. Puritans were dissatisfied with the Church of England’s toleration of certain practices associated with the Catholic Church. Quakers were also dissatisfied with the teachings of the Church of England and nonconformists; however, Quakers’ theological beliefs vary considerably. Most Friends believe in continuing revelation: that God continuously reveals truth directly to individuals.
Realizing the need for The Great Awakening in America it happened between 1730s to 1750s with, Evangelical preachers by the names of George Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards, and Charles Finny and other romed the country sides to spread the Gospel message.
They moved our nation to go back to church and preached repentance of sins and caused a revolution for liberty and freedom that started unity of the United States against England and lead to our current form of government. We need another Great Awakening in America today!
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Evil, wicked, and ungodly, men and women can not see the Kingdom of God (Heaven) unless they repent and confess their sins before a Holy God.
John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Nicodemus had a narrow viewpoint of the question. So, this caused Jesus to clarify his statement.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Born- From above, meaning Spiritual Birth. Not physically.
Water –symbolizes word of God. Spirit– symbolizes Holy Spirit of God.
Water and of the Spirit-Together they work as the Holy Spirit guides us through the Word of God so it can wash us, white a snow, and cleanse us from unrighteousness of sin.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Flesh is flesh-Those that have the old nature and will not give t up or choose to have a no relationship with God. “Worldly life” they know they cannot please God.
Spirit is spirit-Those that have the new nature and desire a relationship with God and desire the word of God to change them to What God desires of them. The Holy Spirit of God leads them. “Heavenly minded.”
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Marvel not– Jesus said “do not be amazed” at what I said. Ye must be born again.
Jesus emphasizes that we should not be surprised by what He said, but must be born again.
John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Jesus said, “you cannot tell where the wind comes from, and you cannot tell where its is going.” Man has no control of it. It goes where it wants. Also, it works in the hearts and minds of His people.
John 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Jesus deals with each one where we are and changes us from there to were He wants us to end up.
John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Jesus asks Nicodemus are you not a Pharisees and a master of Israel, and you don’t know thses things? (Don’t you know the Word of God?)
John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
We- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—this is the Trinity.
John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Jesus tells Nicodemus He is the only one that has came down from heaven and He was the only one that has accended first and will return again.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
This Son of Man is none other than Jesus the Christ and our savior. And He must be exaulted above all else in this world or in heaven. They would not have to do this if they were not worshipping idols.
John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Do you believe it? Do you want to be Saved? Do you want a change in your life?
Do you want to save your life? Call out to Jesus today! Free yourself from the burdens of Sin!
Following the will of our God, who calls sinners to Himself, we must become ministers of the Gospel who win souls from the world. If you have been saved but still do not know what comes first, or if you have not yet come to this realization, now is the time to receive God’s mercy and compassion. Furthermore, as you participate in the Gospel, learn, and dedicate yourself, you must attend church to grow in faith, learn, and fellowship. Only when we move forward together in order and obedience centered on the church as a house of salvation where patience, encouragement, and sharing abound can we learn where we are and for whom we are servants.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
