In this chapter we find it starts with the of the feeding of the five thousand miracle. John 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. We also have the miracle of walking on water. Also, John 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
When you first come to Jesus all your burdens were lifted and that heavy weight was taken away and you felt as if you could breathe. The disciples eat of this miracle, they felt filled, to you and I that is same as being filled with the Holy Spirit.
I tell you because the disciples saw it and tasted it, they believed in him. Like our physical food has a taste, some bitter, some sour, and some sweet but are they all good for our growth. In moderation yes! As a child we liked candy but it was not good for us all the time. We need solid food sometimes for physical growth. We need the word of God for spiritual growth.
When we taste sin, it affects our lives we can become confused and disoriented. Not knowing which way to turn then we can make several bad choices in our lives.
Just like too many sweets causes health problems. We can become unhealthy and end up on medication or become a diabetic.
The disciples knew the scripture foretold it, and everything about Jesus the coming Messiah. But we see time after time them being unsure of some things. Like us sometimes. You and I have only read it, and heard it the word of God, in scripture and you have believed it, how much more is your faith than theirs. Amen!
These disciples knew Jesus, they could touch him, they walked with him, they conversed with him, they prayed with him. We can only do that at a great distance for he is not physically here. And it is different for us.
Why do we suffer with unbelief? Remember Jesus said to his disciples, “oh ye of little faith”. The reason why is they were not fully believing in the power and authority of Jesus. Do we get that way sometimes? Of course we do.
However, we do not have to stay in this condition of unbelief we can choose This day who we will follow. Amen! But from our readings of God’s word, we understand Jesus is God’s full provision for people in their whole existence. Amen!
Jesus needs his followers to be all in. Therefore, we must believe his word, as it was written and believe exactly what it states. Amen! No wavering! Amen!
If we are all in this means we totally believe everything God’s word says and we can follow it. If we are all out this means we totally cannot believe everything God’s word says and we cannot follow it. We may have some here that still have not made their decision. We would classify them spiritually dead with no life.
God is the Source of all life. The Son has life in Himself and He has come to give real and lasting life to people. We can become all in. Our sin cuts them off from God, who is Life, and they die spiritually and physically. We can become all out when we are cut off.
God is the Source of all life. The Son has life in Himself and He has come to give everlasting life to whosoever believes. We become all in by our belief that Jesus is the son of God and our Lord and Savior. Life’s journey is real and we need to make a choice of whom we will serve, and where we will spend eternity.
When we allow our sins, like pride, and arrogance to cause suffering and misery to enter our lives we become all out. All caused by our choice to be disobedient and rebellious to God. There is no middle ground for you to stand on! Your choices are All In Heaven. Or All Out Hell!
There can be no middle ground, some may come to church and act as if they are saved and help with all the work but never seek salvation. I have news for those types of people. You’re still in the all out crowd, and you will be missed in heaven. Salvation is serious business with God, and it is a matter of everlasting life in enjoyment or everlasting death & torment. It is all your choice. If you say I just won’t choose that is your choice. You’re still in the all out crowd.
Jesus’s Controversial statement
John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
Jesus is the only way the only truth and the only life that can be given to us to get us back to our Holy, almighty, and powerful God.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” This is how we should live and experience life.
John 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead.
Yes, God provided for them, but they all did not obtain salvation of the of the Lord even though he offered may times in the wilderness. He not only offered it he showed it to them through the miracles that He performed. (EXODUS, RED SEA…)
John 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
Jesus was the only one sent from above to save us. We should only believe in Him and Gods Word that was sent with him.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Jesus is our only hope of life everlasting. In order for us to obtain it we must be all in. What Jesus was saying is that the bread, was a representation of his body broken for you just as we did in communion. Also, Jesus was saying he would be the sacrifice for the world’s sin.
John 6:52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, how can this man give us his flesh to eat?
When murmuring starts, it causes you and others to lose out! They became cast aways, or all out! Because we do not believe in something does not mean it is not true. Example: Gravity I can say all day long I do not believe in it but the fact is it will still exists. Does the apple fall up in the air or down to the ground?
John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.
Because of the murmuring /disputing they walked away from the living God and were cut off. They became all out! We do not wish this on our worst enemy but if they choose that is on them.
The question to you today is my title Are you all in or all out?
Perhaps you need to come to the altar to make it right, repent and confess so you can become all in.
Perhaps Peter said it best in John 6:68 To whom shall we go? Thou has the words of eternal life! No one else has them! Who will give you eternal life only Jesus.
Are you all in or all out? Where will you go to find eternal life? Only Jesus Can help you!
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Selah! Amen.
